I've been having an intermittent issue with my infotainment screen not coming on at all from startup. If it doesn't come on, it stays off the whole time until I stop and restart it. After restart, it sometimes will come on.
When the screen is off - nothing that is on the infotainment screen works i.e. no sound.... nothing. It does not turn itself on or off once started so I don't think its a loose wiring.
Sometimes a restart right away fixes it, sometimes 3 restarts and nothing... go for a drive, restart and its on.
Thanks Gents! I took a video with my phone and will make a trip to the dealer at some point. Hopefully my GMEPP covers whatever the issue is. And while I'm there, check the rims & tires since I have that warranty too
Check and make sure the connections to the module located in the drivers kick panel are tight and secure. Loose connections can cause the problem you have.
As ridiculous at it sounds, you could try disconnecting your battery for a few minutes and hooking it back up. (Classic "have you turned it off and back on again?" scenario, I know). I had a guy with a '17 GS stop by our facility a few years ago who was having an issue with his infotainment center, although not quite the same problem. His was displaying an error message, but I can't recall what it said, I've slept since then! But a simple disconnect/reconnect of the battery fixed it. One of those, doesn't hurt to try type of things to me!
I’m just tossing this out for your idea’s. My Wife’s 17 Acadia (I know it’s a different vehicle) info screen and then gauge cluster was having a mind of its own I took it to dealer they saw problems which were stations changing on there own , gauge cluster changing from info to radio station and when you tapped station buttons on screen they would not change but would using tabs on steer wheel they would. This was a intermittent thing. Even through they saw it acting up there were no codes and nothing showed up defective. Said if it got worse to bring it back. Well it did, it’s all the time now constantly. I took vehicle in for oil change and instead of paying for diagnostic fee ( first one no charge) I decided to just try replacing battery as it was going on 5 years and saw here on this forum that some gremlins appear with a weak battery. It solved the problem ! It’s been about 2-3 weeks and no further problems. Being your car is a 17 might think about battery. The old Acadia battery was load tested and came back good 2 1/2 months earlier. Hope this helps.

Worth looking at the battery too. I had a low charge on my battery once that caused display issues that were similar. Has your car been sitting in storage and maybe the battery is questionable?
*Just noticed: looks like others said check battery too*

I do keep it on a maintainer 24/7 when not driving it. The same issue occurred a couple times last year as well. Could be the battery though, AFAIK it is original. Thanks!
