I wonder what the taillights would look like with the top filled in. Pardon the crude photo work but just adding a red section across the top like this:

Camaro and vent stuff aside I'd say congratulations on achieving a complete custom look, obviously much more than just the lights.

If you had a widebody car, the wider vents adjacent to the diffuser may be enough to make up for the loss of venting at the top, but with a narrowbody, the diffuser vents are tiny and the majority of the venting comes from the taillight. In either case, heat rises, so the hot air from those radiators will now be collecting behind your cover and around your taillight instead of being released from the car.

Very true. And by the way, you have a good looking car there.

I respect creativity, thumbs up for the custom work, clean lines and one of a kind mod.

I wonder how it would look if you had the Standard rear spoiler that eliminated the space between the Spoiler and the rear fascia.

If you like the revised look, that is all that is important. For me personally, it is not a look I would want on my car - I think the OEM look works just fine with the car. But, everyone has their own opinions.

To each their own. If I was looking to buy a C7 I’d pass on one with that mod.

CONGRATS on your custom work.
I would monitor your temperature in the rear bumper. With any loss of air flow to cool this car maybe a concern.Sitting in heat of summer in traffic the middle of the car gets kinda hot.The rear with all that is going on.
Coolers in place for a reason.Your exhaust is right there.Keep a eye on your bumper gaps if they change?
Sure you have given this some thinking before your Ballsey Mod

I did give this some thought and have opened up the bottom a bit. However with the reminders I have read I may look at a small fan mounted below. THANKS.

I like it. It's different but still looks nicely done. The vents you lost would be the main issue. And this would not have the same looks/effect on dark colored cars since there is much less contrast between the taillight bezels/vents and the actual car color.

I don't see it being as noticeable of a change on a black or NRB car or similar.

I like the rear spoiler a lot. That's pretty cool.

While I love my C7 Z06, I have never liked the design of the rear end on the C7. Unfortunately, there isn't much that you can do (in my opinion) to correct its ugliness. That's one of the reasons why I chose Watkins Glen Gray. The hideous black details blend in so they're not as objectionable.

With all of this being said, I applaud the OP for coming up with a very clean & unique option. I don't think that it helps....but it doesn't make it any worse either.
