Black wheels offer zero contrast from the tires. For that reason, I would always vote for silver / chrome wheels.

Personally I feel that most C7's look better with black wheels which goes along with the current trend.
I just happen to have one of the few colors that don't look good with black rims so I'm sticking with Chrome.

I like the machined wheels. It gives you both looks.
The other reason, if I decide to take a quick pleasure ride, I have to Detail Wax the car and clean the windows. A quick wipe of the machined portion of the wheels and the exhaust tips with a shop wrag brightens them right up. If you are farther than five feet, you will probably not notice the brake dust!
I did like the saw blades on the C4.

I have the silver pearl on mine for 2 reasons. First, it just goes well with my CMG color and second, the concave look of my wheels get lost in black. Also, I've had black wheels since before they were cool and a thing with automotive manufacturers. But when my neighbor leased a Rav4 with black wheels for his wife a couple years ago, I kind of got a feeling that black wheels jumped the shark. Not saying gloss black wheels don't look gorgeous on the C7, just saying I felt uncool watching his rugrats get into a blacked out RAV4.

I think that the black wheels (in that style) would look great on your Torch Red Vette. However, I personally hate black wheels (and cars) in general because the paint shows the dirt almost instantaneously; and it magnifies every nick and scratch. Black also tends to hide the definition in the wheel design....especially with an increased number of spokes. In dim light, you'll barely be able to see the wheels at all. Just look at the blue Nissan GTR in the photo above. If those things don't bother you, go with the black.

Its not a C7 but it is my old C6 GS and it is Torch Red. IMO, chrome is the only thing that goes with Torch Red. I agree with a previous poster that said that black doesn’t give any contrast with the tires.

I like the sliver, or chrome, but I do have black wheels for when I go over the Chuckwalla track. I just don't like how the black hides the wheel features and definition. The wheels seem to get lost in the tire if you will. That's just me. But I ride with these daily.

My vote goes to the painted wheels - not a fan at all of black wheels with the exception of machine faced ones. And I prefer high polished or chrome over any other wheel.
