Does anyone know if a 2016 owners manual would differ in any major way from a 2019? I just picked up a CPO ‘19 GS last week but didn’t notice the manual is from a 2016 until yesterday. They are a bit pricey to buy online. Thx.
But, back to your question... I'm sure there are likely a few differences, but using the older one, even over time, you're not likely to encounter them. By far and away most info is the same. All the best.
The 2019 Owner Manual will tell you to use Dexos 0W-40 oil.
The 2016 Owner Manual will tell you to use Dexos 5W-30 oil.
The engine is the same but GM now recommends the newer oil.
I’m going through the same issue with a used 2022 GMC Sierra that I bought a month ago. No owners manual or diesel supplement that was provided when new. Yes, I’ve downloaded the electronic version but I find paper copies easier to follow and contrary to what was said above I find searching for a topic from the index of a paper copy easier than an electronic version. The dealer says that I need to get a copy from GMC, and GMC says that the dealer should provide me with a copy. Lot’s of them on eBay (I suspect the same for C7’s) but not cheap. That must be the latest thing, keep your paper copy of the owner’s manual and sell it on eBay
FWIW, I keep the original paper copy of the Owner Manual in the glove box of our car, and keep a downloaded copy in our home computer.
Different tools for different jobs.
I can easily utilize an electronic copy for actual use but i'm interested in having the proper documented year OM in the car just because. I come from two C3's as my previous Corvettes and loved having original documentation for the cars.

It is satisfying to have the complete set of documents which came with the car.
