Default Dash power issues

Hey friends,

I'm having a very difficult time with my 2015 base model. For the last year or more I've had an intermittent power issue to the HVAC and instrument cluster. Not the LCD display or the radio display. Just the speedometer fuel and water gauges. (Well on a really bad day the radio is effected but very seldom).

It acts like a connection issue. Extreme weather makes it mess up more often.

It only glitches out for a second or two. Then comes right back to life as if nothing happened.

I'm thinking a ground wire maybe, or a plug somewhere. But finding information on this car is impossible.

Recently I smacked the dash right above the radio and it came back on, but immediately started acting up even worse.

Is there a connection behind the radio that I can check?

Any help is appreciated 🙏

Many threads that an old battery will cause all kinds of electrical issues. I would start there.

You might want to check out this recent thread - maybe just rule it out??

I know for a fact if you have a loose main ground the rpm needle will bounce all over the place. It may not be your solution but clean all the grounds because it's easy and free. You will have ruled it out.

Then like in the other thread check all the connections at the battery.
