I have a 2015 Coupe been insuring it through the NCM, which over the past several years has never been more than $350 a year. I only drive the Corvette a few times a month. In any event, this year, my rate went up to over $700. Nothing has changed with my driving record or any thing like that. So I called the Museum and found that they could not explain it other than to say it was an increase. They then said that California made a change with what they can provide as discounts? There really was not a specific explanation, so I thought I would ask here. Has anyone else experienced this with their policy?
I am shopping now for another option, but thought it would be interesting to hear from others.
You're going to have to shop for a company that offers the very limited driving that you do. Metered mileage rates. Your rate 2X+ is par for the economic conditions.
Quotes with a $1,000.00 deductible.
Inflation is doubling or more the rates of most insurance policies.
Try:
Geico
Progressive
Amica
State Farm
Farmers
USAA
Yes, I have had similar experiences in the past with other insurance companies. As claims rise and as the cost of claims rise, insurance companies need to pass those costs along to their customers. Sometimes when they have too much risk in a certain area, that is their way of reducing their risks (i.e. having customer go elsewhere). It often pays to shop around.
They are not even talking about the people that are insured and have minimum coverage.
When, I started driving in California the minimum coverage for insurance was 15/30/5. 50 years later, it still is!
Someone, could hit you, be isured, according to the state, and only have $5,000 worth of insurance to fix your car! That is why I carry the maximum uninsured/underinsured coverage.
Yeah, but I hate to give the insurance companies any leeway. It get an increase, but seriously, it went from $349.00 to $725. No changes in the policy, no changes in my driving record and no claims, and the car and I am one year older. Sheesh. Thanks for the link
I did, they were over $800. Sheesh. Same with American Classics. State farm $825. American Modern (through the museum $725). Right now Liberty Mutual may have something, I am praying.
I switched insurance companies to save money and sure enough the first 6 month renewal went up a few bucks so inquired about the increase and the same bs "it costs more to do business in the area" lets see if it goes down next renewal period or I will inquire again.
It's simple. You and I and all other law abiding citizens are paying for the uninsured motorists along with increased costs of repairs, false claims. and their ridiculous tv ads. They will never have a reasonable explanation other than blaming the state in which you live. The best thing to do is change your insurance ompaniy when the increase becomes intolerable.
Wynsnob, hate to hear that! Have you called us? Please give one of our agents a call and let’s see if there is a glitch or issue with your policy. 877.678.7626
You might check with Grundy, you can get an online quote very quickly. They saved me money over Hagerty and anyone else that I got quotes from. Have been with them a while now.
