Default Under hood power source
Was thinking about putting a few lights under the hood of my '19 GS. Is there another power source besides the fuse box that I can tap into for a hot lead ?

If you want always on hot you can use the + charging post next to the fuse box under a cap.

I do not know where you can find power source that is switched by the ignition other than in the fuse box, when I wired in an after market front parking camera I used an "ADD A FUSE KIT" at fuse 31 on my 2019 1LT works fine.
Here are a few photos that may help.

You can still do the same as I did, there are other fuses in there with power on them all the time.
I guess you will be turning the lights on with a microswitch or magnetic sensor so they come on when the hood is open or something similar?

Yes, or a simple manual toggle switch, just to power them.

O.K one last question, are these fuses called mini, micro or ? I do have some fuses in my storage container but they are a bit larger and do not fit.

I think you will find both in the fuse box, the one I tapped into, shown in my photos in post 3 are MICROs, if interested here is the kit I purchased.

I need a 20 amp fuse, these only go up to 15 A.
