What is the consensus for Fener Extensions on A C7 Stingray
I was wanting to put fender extensions on my 2017 Z51 Stingray. I was doing some research and received some very negative responses. I wanted to put this out and get some feed back from the FORUM before I take the plunge with these extension. I see these as being a very attractive upgrade to the Stingray. What are your thoughts?
I shared pics of some examples of C7 with Fender Extensions as examples..
Responses that I have received......
1) I just don't like changing the C7 to make it look more like the Z06. Just seems dumb to me.
2) Why would you do that if you haven't changed the tire size? I think it looks crazy.
3) I am not a strong supporter of all the mods you can add to the Stingray.
4) Coo, l think they look nice.
What is your thought on adding fender extensions to a C7 Stingray?
I was considering adding fender extensions on my 2017 C7 Stingray and was bombarded by a number of negative responses. I would like to get the FORUM to provide some feedback before I take the plunge and add these to my C7.
What do you think in terms of the looks? I personally think they look cool!

Well, you answered your own question here. You think they look cool so go for it. At the same time you asked for opinions. I think they look like cheap and added on, unless you were to do wide body changes with panels swapped out. Then again you might want to consider a Gran Sport.
Go for it if you like the look. Its your Vette, so who cares what anyone else thinks. I took the OEM slats off of my 2019 GS and put carbon-flash painted ones on and I am really happy with the look.
I have Hydro Dipped on mine, I was torn between the Carbon Fiber or dipped. The CF look so much better but not as durable. The Hydro Dipped dont look terrible and are more giving in the event you hit them.

With the GS/Z06, the front wheels and tires are wider than the base car so I have a feeling the fender spats are going to look a bit out of place with the stock size wheels/tires, but hey, if you like the look on the base car, by all means do what you want. If you do not like them after having them on the car for a while, you can always remove them.
Since you ask, I think they look just like what they are... cheapo substitutes for real widened fenders. But, if you like them, go for it... why do you care what others think (with apologies to Mrs. Feynmann)?
I replaced the stock ones on my Z with the painted carbon fiber ones and they look better than the factory ones to me. However if I had a narrow body Vette I would not ad them
I don't even like them on mine that came with the car. I even took them off once to see what it would look like. Even worse! The fenders should have had the flare, but GM came up with some excuse that they are some kind of a feature if you can believe it.
