Drove my 2016 Z51 the other day to a store, parked for about 30 minutes and car would not start when I tried to leave. Would turn over, but very slowly as if drained battery. I got a jump, car started, drove home. I put the battery on a charger overnight (did not check voltage first, ugh). Tried to start the car, essentially the same thing, except when I got out of the car the dash screens stayed on as well as the parking lights, the trunk would not open with the key fob but the door locks worked with the fob. The driver window did not come down as normal for me to close the drivers door. I opened the trunk with the hard key, jumped it again and this seemed to reset things,, when I unlocked the doors with the key fob again the window cracked for me to get the door shut and all the lights went off. Checked the battery voltage and it was 12.6. I was able to start the car normally after the jump with the start button inside the car as well as the remote start. Voltage with car it idle was 14.6. I'm flummoxed. Any thoughts on what might be going on here?
I have had 2 vehicles over the years that went bad. They too had an intermittent internal problem. I replaced and everything worked fine. One of the vehicles was a 2008 Corvette coupe. Buy a new battery and avoid the problem.

Reason: Clearing explanation
Don't bother checking it. It is 6 years old, replace it. A $200 battery /6 years = $33 per year. So worst comes to worst and the battery might have lasted another year, you lost $33. Seems like a real good trade for no more similar problems. I replace ours at 5 years needed or not. I don't want the hassle like you just went through. And I really don't want my wife to have that problem on her own somewhere.
Batteries don't normally last that long, so I agree with everyone else...just get a new one. It will be needed soon enough no matter what AND it will probably solve your problem.
