I normally don't use my C7 in the winter much but I took it out and noticed that barely any air comes out of the floor registers. You can hear the fan running and straining against the blockage. All is fine in other modes other that "floor"...I am assuming a bad damper - anyone know how difficult that is to repair? I do have an extended warranty but it would be nice to know how much of the dash has to be torn apart...Thanks and Happy New Year!!
Take it in for warranty. There are some past posts for you to find. Probably a bad air box actuator inside the dash and not a simple fix. Good luck! What year? I have a 2019 and am dreading this.

2014...with only 20K on it. I don't know why I hear various dampers move every time I start the car...seems like a lot of unnecessary wear and tear...
Plug in a ODB2 scanner and check for codes. Had weird problems with mine and was surprise there were codes found. They ended up replacing the head unit to correct my problem with warm air coming out of random vents and cold out others all the the same time.
My ‘15 is in the shop right now for the same problem. The Mode Actuator is stuck. Fails “feedback” signal on my scan tool which means it’s not moving to the commanded position. They quoted $1450 all in to replace it. Apparently it’s behind the dash next to the firewall.
I’m having similar symptoms of the floor vent as well as fresh air blowing considerably warmer than outside air on my ‘16.Thankfully, extended warranty in place. Now to find dealership to handle this repair.
I think I read a post here maybe a month ago about there being a reset procedure via scan tool for the vent control system.
There IS a calibration that can be performed and on one occasion, I was able to get mine to move again using my Autel Scantool. Sadly, the actuator is stuck now.

I hope that does not work on my car...I'd rather let the extended warranty cover it while I still have it...my luck it would get stuck after it ran out! I'll get it in weather permitting in January and post the findings....
