Default NPP electrical

Looking to drive NPP actuators on my non-NPP Z51 with Z06 mufflers installed.
It looks like three wires go into the actuators for NPP: B+, Chassis -, and one that goes to the BCM. I'm trying to figure out what that wire does. It has a funky symbol that to my best guess, is a 5v reference signal (is depicted with a square wave symbol, ground symbol and switch symbol) that goes to ground when activated, as the valves stay open with no input.
Anyone gone down this Rabbit hole before and wired one up, activated by a Mild to Wild remote setup?
Thanks in advance... Bill.

Unfortunately valves are not on/off but are variable opening and are controlled by PWM signal. Choices to make functional are an expensive aftermarket controller or a super complex DIY that has been documented here somewhere on CF. Best bet is install NPP mufflers and enjoy them in the always open default position. Somebody needs to invent a simple aftermarket actuator that fits in the NPP valve holes that can be opened/closed with a simple old school cutout 12v circuit.

Not saying it cant be done....but I dont recall a thread where someone seamlessly integrated into the BCM to introduce the function. Keep us posted on what you do.

The valve actuators are pulse width modulated (the square wave symbol on wiring diagrams). There are a few references to the do it yourself design and a mention of an Akrapovic commercial control.

Use ADVANCED SEARCH for "NPP + CONTROL" and you will find many references.

Here's a link to one of the many results:

It doesn't go to the BCM. It goes to the CCM. Chassis control module, under the trunk floor.

As mentioned the funky symbol is a pulse which means a pulsed signal (pulse width modulated). Only mfg I know that makes the controls to integrate is Akrapovic. Last person I read about that installed one said it only worked with the mode selector and not the engine sound management menu (mode selector set to Tour and sound menu set to track for example. NPP will be in Tour mode)

The stock valves only have two positions. Open or closed. The PWM signal from the CCM closes the valves. The lack of a signal opens the valves. It is easy to see the positions of the valves if you look into the exhaust outlets or video them while driving.

To duplicate this type of signal you need to look for circuits similar to this one available from Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Hopkins-21146375-Pulse-Modulation-Converter/dp/B00OK8XI8Y/ref=asc_df_B00OK8XI8Y/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=459460197075&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7960903176308989266&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9009982&hvtargid=pla-972539510524&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/Hopkins-21146375-Pulse-Modulation-Converter/dp/B00OK8XI8Y/ref=asc_df_B00OK8XI8Y/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=459460197075&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7960903176308989266&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9009982&hvtargid=pla-972539510524&psc=1

This module supposedly supports up to 8 amps of current draw. I don't know how much current the two valve motors will draw together.

If the valve motors only draw a half amp each then a module like this may be useful:
https://www.trcelectronics.com/View/...BoC6R8QAvD_BwE

Or something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/ALEDECO-Voltage-Motor-Speed-Controller/dp/B07P2BLG2L/ref=asc_df_B07P2BLG2L/?tag=&linkCode=df0&hvadid=343187910376&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7960903176308989266&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9009982&hvtargid=pla-687131066147&ref=&adgrpid=69721953515&th=1 https://www.amazon.com/ALEDECO-Voltage-Motor-Speed-Controller/dp/B07P2BLG2L/ref=asc_df_B07P2BLG2L/?tag=&linkCode=df0&hvadid=343187910376&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7960903176308989266&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9009982&hvtargid=pla-687131066147&ref=&adgrpid=69721953515&th=1

Here is another module that you can purchase to experiment with to develop an understanding of PWM and how to apply it.
https://www.digikey.com/en/blog/pulse-width-modulation

Goggle pulse width modulation module to find more items that might apply.

Thanks Bill.
I think I may try this one out since it has a fwd, reverse, and stop.
