Default Jack Stand and Jack Point, Acceptable?

I just found out I need to replace axle shaft seal. Are these points acceptable? I used a 2x6 under the crossmember but made sure it wasn’t on the leaf spring. If jack stands need to be somewhere else, where?

Regards, Jeff

Thank you!

So my jacking point is fine. What about the stands? Picture kind of vague.

I see no issue, I would put them in the same spot as well if I needed to use stands.

That is where I have been placing jack stands when lifting the car.

That is exactly how I lift mine, with the exception that I have added 4" X 4" wooden pads at each end of the board. Did this because that frame member is slightly curved, and the lifting force will be exerted at the center few inches of the member. Overkill on my part, probably; you should be fine the way you are doing it.

The center is not a suggested lifting point. Look at the first picture and the curvature can be seen.

That looks good. The jack stands are in the proper location. As for using the piece of wood with the jack I wouldn't do that. The wood provides a source of failure since it isn't fastened to either the cradle or the jack so movement can occur with the result of the car dropping at least a few inches right at the wrong time. The jack head won't damage the cradle. I usually jack from the side of the car when I use jack stands. From one jacking location, I can get three wheels off the ground.
