I still can't get a handle on the prices on C7's. They're all over the place. Just when I think I have it figured out I'll find one that beats the price of others by a fair margin. I recently looked at a 2017 Z51/3lt w/12k miles for $53k, and almost pulled the trigger on it, until I ran across an identical 2019 for nearly the same price. Then there was the 2017 loaded Grand Sport with 6k miles for $58.5K. What's a guy to do? It's enough to drive a guy to drink, which isn't a bad thing. But how is one to know just WHAT is a great price? I'm sitting on cash to buy, but I'm not going to throw my money away either.
You decide what year you want, what package you want, what color you want get a decent idea of what it is worth just a quick kbb or other like check and buy it.
Agree! First select the model (Stingray, Z51, GS, etc.) then prioritize your options and look for that car only. I recently (July) did that and found my dream vette. An admiral blue GS level II. While the current prices reflect I paid too much, at the time it was a good number. What's more important is getting the right car that you'll be happy with.

If you find something that checks all the boxes and its a competitive price I’d pull the trigger. It’s not worth tip toeing around for a couple $1,000 to miss out on your dream car. That just me though. It may be harder to find what you’re looking for and get the best deal around. Life’s to short so if that special one pops up go for it. Good luck

Yep, this is exactly what I did. I looked for my dream vette only. I was able to find one nearby.
But having a narrow search also showed the price spread of those I was only interested to see. This allowed me to find the dream vette quicker.
Today, fifteen months later, yes, the prices have dropped a little. But I'm still happy with the deal I made at the time, and I've enjoyed the Z51 in the interim.
Choose the G S and then look for service records and miles----- then---- buy it!
Prices will go up & down monthly
Once you have it , drive it and enjoy.
, until I ran across an identical 2019 for nearly the same price. .
dude, if you are worried about the "couple grand" between various used cars and feel like you have to nail that deal of all deals. . . . . . .you're going to be looking at ads while you wait to vote for our next president and our national debt is 40 trillion.
You are correct "in the old days" get that in MILEAGE was a factor but now the C8 and C7 are all over the place the same C8 can be 3-1500 dollars difference the C7 are difficult to pin down too. I think the sellers put a number up high then lower it so they can say REDUCED
Definitely wait 6-months until the car market crashes. If you look at CarGurus's price trends, 2015 C7's have dropped by ~6% in the YOY and past 30 days. I believe this is just the beginning. Of course, you can't wait forever, but we are at the beginning of a bursting bubble, and you can save thousands by waiting 6-months. Once the eray hits the market, the correction will accelerate. That is just my opinion.
Like a couple others that posted, I bought last year only to see prices drop several thousand since then. I eventually stopped looking at the market and started enjoying the car. The perfect deal is out there but when/where you will find it is anyone's guess.
In brief, I started my C7 search, looking for a C6. My wife said casually during a disappointing viewing... Why settle?! Budget doubled, and here I am!

Good advice here. Best of luck finding just the right car.
Get a kick out of those who keep shopping after buying, must be masochistic. C7 prices are dropping so new posts will be lower than the previous ones. A recession is in the works for this year. Buy what you want, the Vette is a toy. Buy it and don't look back, instead start personalizing it with all the doodads like carbon fiber.

If it were a couple grand, I agree. But I'm finding prices with a 4-5 grand difference. That's significant. I'm not buying worrying about re-sale, I'm just trying to figure out just what is a good price. Just when I have one in my sights, another will pop up significantly lower. I've flagged quite a few to alert me of price drops, and it seems I get alerts every day of the prices coming down. Who's to know where the bottom is, but I need to get off my *** and make a decision. I'm going to try and hold out a little longer, but it's difficult when you have the itch. I realize the closer to spring we get prices may go up. But we also have a recession looming, and if that happens all bets are off.
Great advice from members. I recently purchased a 19 Grand Sport. Here are my thoughts are pricing. The market changes weekly (up and down) and it's like watching gas prices at your local gas station. I would decide on which Year or Years and Model you want, Trim level 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, Auto or Manual, and amount of miles on the car you want to buy. How far are you willing to travel? Do you want a Certified Pre Owned? Build a search in Autotrader, Car Gurus. You will have emails delivered everyday. Don't over think this. And for the folks that keep shopping after their purchase, "Don't look back, You aren't going there!"
Do your research for what you want. Model, options, color in and out, manual or auto and mileage DESIRE.
If your worried about 5k plus or minus don’t.
Buy it.
Yes prices will go up and down like the market these days, enough to turn the stomach.
Buy it and enjoy like I did.
I know I over paid but it was what I was looking for.
Good luck.
My .02 is that the car must fall in your budget and also in a car value tool(ex. KBB) fair range before it can be considered.
Once those two boxes are checked, if it’s close to your “ideal” car as far as model, condition, mileage, options, color, etc… grab it👍🏽
you might not get the best deal from a cost standpoint but you might still get the best car. I’d pay a little more for a car with a single owner and service records than one with 4 owners given everything else is similar between them.
The future is uncertain, apparently the used market is crashing but the value of the dollar is also dropping. If you can afford one now, get it soon.
