Speed kills there just making cars to fast and let just anyone buy one. A 1 day driving course would stop a lot of people from getting killed or at least let the buyers find out how much power the car puts out and what it can do.
Some people are their own worst enemy. And there is nothing that you, their friends or their family can do or say to prevent their eventual outcome. Very sad for the loss of life here, but happy no other lives were taken.

Sad for the loss of life and sure thankful no one else was killed or injured. Not sure why the driver felt the need to significantly exceed an 80 mph speed limit.
This is my point guys; we are only given 1 life to live and to treat it so carelessly is senseless. When I was a young gun, I was hell bent like many of us and I am, very thankful to have made it to 62 . I feel so sad for all the senseless loss of life. Just my 2 cents guy

I saw it on a local FB page here. It was south of Austin on the 130 toll road and it was raining yesterday when it occurred. The driver was going way too fast for the conditions.
Slight downhill right sweeper at that location. Looks like he misjudged the direction change and drifted to the left out into the grass armco and concrete pillars. Over-driving his lights by a big margin. Bad judgement. As noted, the only blessing was that he was the only one to pay the price.
I won't even run the speed limit on that road at night. There are too many hogs moving about as you get further south.

I've exceeded the speed limit, in excess of 80 mph, many times in my life (and never been killed). I'm surprised how many of you guys are commenting as if they haven't.
We don't really know what happened. Maybe he was headed to a hospital or a bathroom. Maybe he had just robbed a convenient store. Maybe he was suicidal.
