Guys
I need help!!
I went to a poor service center where they changed my differential oil with ACdelco 75W90 GL5 which I came to discover it’s not the GM recommended part number for my 2016 C7 corvette when I drive slow speed and I turn full right or left I hear a weird sound in the rear.
IT s it too late for my differential or I can replace it with the recommended fluid and the noise will go away ?

I would get that out of it and put in the correct stuff and hope it didnt do any damage. But it may be making that sound only at those times and has not done nothing as of yet.. That is my 2 cents on just to hope the chg will do the correct job for you. Robert
Got u and thanks for the reassurance
Is it safe to drive it now to the service center or should I request towing service as it’s around 10 miles from my home to the service center!
Sounds like that fluid doesn't have the limited slip additive in it and you're hearing the clutch packs. Have them change it. It may take some figure 8s in the parking lot and a few miles for the new fluid to get rid of the pops and noises.

I would call the service center and ask them if they want to pay for towing for them to correct the error, or have you drive it in. That will show them you are serious about them correcting their error and any damage caused by driving any further is on them.
Just drive it to them and get it changed. Then you need to drive it for a while before changing it again. It is also possible that you won't need a second change. Think about a typical clutch pack lim slip diff. To simplify a little you have a stack of discs, maybe 12 of them. Every other disc is connected to the left axle. The ones in between are connected to the right axle. These discs are pushed tightly together so they will slip in relation to each other only under certain conditions. What you are hearing is the discs trying to slip but they have the wrong fluid to make that slip a smooth process. The reason I say drive it for a while is it will take some time for the old fluid to work out from between the discs and the new fluid to work in. BTW, like kaplana I use Mobil 1 LS 75-90 in mine. But in your situation I would go w/ whatever GM recommends.
In the future, if you need someone else to do maintenance on your car, purchase the parts and/or fluids yourself and simply pay them for the labor. Finding a place that'll let you watch or assist is a bonus, to be assured that it's done correctly and with your supplied products. Creating a relationship with an independent shop and financially compensating them well, will pay off in the long run.

Do you have the electronic limited slip (ELSD)? I'm working from memory here, but I recall a posting (maybe from Bill Dearborn) that only the old-style mechanical limiited-slip differentials (as in the base C7) actually require the friction modifier. My memory could be faulty.
