Default Missing Badly?

Got the 2018 Z06 out this evening to take the wife to dinner. After a few miles the car began chattering badly under acceleration. Feels like a dead miss on 1 or 2 cylinders. After a bit, the Stabilatrack light came on, then got a message to check rear axle and the engine light came on also.

Even in neutral the engine feels like it has a dead miss. Even idling into the garage, it chugs, like it's running on 6 cylinders.

Any ideas on what the problem is? Anyone experience a similar situation? It's got 25,000 miles and never experienced any problems previously.

I suppose I'll take it to a Chevrolet dealership Monday....

Thanks!

Bad spark plug.
Bad spark plug wire.
Bad coil.
Broken valve spring.
Just about any shop should be able to give you a better diagnosis.

Best to have a competent tech take a look at the car - hopefully not something that is a major repair.

Check your spark plug boots to make sure one didn't come loose

I am willing to bet you have a check engine light , so many things can cause a miss , just read the codes as anything posted here is just a guess The error messages you’re seing on the DIC is just a result of the ECM shutting down those modules as it senced a fault

Thanks for the thoughtful suggestions.

To add to the mystery, my oil pressure gauge is indicating 70 PSI (very high for this car). Stabilatrack light is on, check rear axle message in DIC, check engine light is on, runs with at least 1 cylinder at a dead miss. All maintenance performed just as required and a new battery that's only a year old. Not driven hard. Strange set of symptoms.

I've got a wrecker coming to my house to pick it up today and bring it to the local Chevy dealership where I've got an appointment for Monday am.

I'll let you guys know what they say....

My bet is a bad spark plug. My Stingray had those exact same symptoms and it turned out to be a bad plug.

I followed the suggestions above (thank you) and had it towed to the local Chevy dealership. They ran a diagnostic and concluded that #7 cylinder had either a bad wire or spark plug. They changed them both and reset the codes. The car runs perfect again.

Times have changed, in the old days a bad plug or wire would not mess with your oil pressure gauge (as one example)!

Thanks for the suggestions and I'm really glad to be back on the road, without catastrophic cost or damage.

Thanks again for the suggestions!
