Default Corvette Authenticity Question

Hey guys, quick question: I am looking at this 2019 Stingray 1LT. I wonder if anyone can tell me if this rear lip spoiler is OEM. I believe that clear rear tail lenses are a Z06 feature. Is that true? Are these clear lenses a mod or are they a factory option on the Stingray?

Someone added the Z06 / Grand Sport Stage 2 rear spoiler and the Z06 clear wickerbill. Based on the color of the spoiler it's likely aftermarket. The GM color is Carbon Flash which has some metallic to it.

Edit: There are also people that bolt the Z06/GS winglets to the Z51 spoiler that they add to the base. Hard to tell from the pics, but even the spoiler body looks aftermarket.

The taillights are Z06 taillights and the spoiler is aftermarket. He ordered it and didn’t paint it it looks like.

Spoiler not OEM, clear lenses are a Z06 feature.

Okay, great. I think I understand. It appears as though the car either came with the Z-51 type spoiler ordered from the factory as an option / dealer installed with holes drilled into the bumper cover or it came from the factory with no spoiler; for which reason the owner had to drill holes first in order to install the one we see; dismantling the bumper cover in the process in order to effect the install. He swapped out the Z06 clear tails in the process as long as the bumper cover was already dismantled.

The spoiler is sized to fit a wide body. Look at the pictures where it shows the spoiler extending out past the rear fascia. On a wide-body car the spoiler ends inside of the outside edge of the fascia Vs hanging out past it. Here is a picture of my Z06 showing how the stock spoiler fits on it:

The spoiler seen in the OPs picture didn't come standard or as an option on the Stingray/Z51 cars. The tail lights were standard on the Z06 only.

Okay, as I was researching this, it occurs to me that the tail pipes appear to be misaligned. Am I seeing things or what? Is realigning them as simple fix?

My OEM tailpipes came grossly misaligned. No, not an easy fix, at least not with my car. I had to disconnect and disregard the stock mount, re-drill mounting holes, and and use new hardware to even get close. So, despite all, it's still a Shivy at heart.

Those tips are not aligned and aside from that, something doesn't look right about them. Could just be the angle of the pic

If you're looking for a stock car, I think I'd pass on that one.

Ya, I don't think it is just a case of a modded spoiler and swapped tails with this car. I think this car has been molested

Default Are These Parts Stock?

Interested in this C7 1LT and I am thinking that some parts on the car are not stock. Can anyone identify the side skirts, the deep red coloured tails, and the front grille? Is that the Z51 dealer-installed spoiler option?

The front grill is off a Z06/GS model, the side skirts were not standard on a 1LT Stingray (or any base car for that matter that I know of), and those look like the Morimoto taillights. It also looks like a Z06/GS style spoiler on the rear (best as I can tell frorm the picture.)

All in all, some nice mods already on the car.

As others have said, the spoiler is from a Z06/GS and the taillights are from a Z06.

I don't know if that's your Stingray convertible but it is BEAUTIFUL and has a lot more "character" to it than the one you're looking at.

So how does the car look otherwise? Stingrays live up to their “base” designation by often coming without what you see has been added. If you are an “original” person, I suppose these can be a dealbreaker. If not, the questions are: 1 do you like it and 2. was it done right with quality components? My 17 came with few appearance pieces. I ended up adding a GM Z51 style spoiler. Later added a non OEM Z06 grill that by all appearances was the equal of the plastic grill removed. All look and fit right as OEM and improve the appearance so I’m good. Anyone buying the car would not be able to pick out the changes unless they are the eagle-eye experts already here.

The winglet/tips from OE have a bolt fastening them on the side. This one does not so I'd say definitely not OE...

Well, those are actually two different C7s; hence two different threads so as to avoid any equivocation among the comments. But sure. Whatever you say. You are the BOSS.

Like others said, it has the Z06 grille, aftermarket side skirts and splitter, and Morimoto taillights. But I think that's the Z51 blade spoiler. Also doesn't look like stock exhaust.
