Hi,
i’ e been a CF member for years and on my 9th Vette. I recently bought a M2W for my 7200 mile C7. I loved it on my C6 427.
question: since I can set the tone of the exhaust on the infotainment screen, is the M2W necessary.
Thanks as always. You are all very much appreciated, especially the Mods.

Honestly, I can't see where the M2W would do a whole lot more than you can accomplish from the Infotainment screen. However I have never owned a M2W product so perhaps I am missing something.

Why did you get rid of the C6 427? I'm thinking of buying one.
I have the M2W on my 2017 GS Vert M7 and also programmed into two of the Garage Door Opener buttons - works perfectly. When I bought the car a few years ago, I noticed that, at least with the M7, there was an RPM range (1300-1500, I think), where, even if the NPP exhaust was set to "Track", it would still change between loud and much less loud as I throttled in and out of that range. It was annoying and sounded strange since that's a pretty common RPM to drive in and out of. If I pulled the NPP fuse, the problem went away, but I lost control of the exhaust.
I learned here that GM had programmed some quieter ranges into the exhaust, regardless of screen settings, to help them meet noise requirements for the car/fleet. In other words, even in Track setting, the exhaust baffles are not always open. I think I read that the automatic transmission cars are programmed somewhat differently, so YMMV. M2W solves the problem and gives you instant choice of wide open or stealth with a quick push of the button - way faster than scrolling through screen settings. It's really nice to be able to change that quickly when you're out for a ride and want to hear the sound, but don't want to PO the neighbors when you turn onto a residential street.
that is because you are supposed to set it to “Stealth”. That way when M2W is activated the valves are wide open 100% of the time. When you press the button on the M2W it will then go into Stealth mode to quiet down.

14s can't control the exhaust like the later models, maybe the 15s too. I have the M2W and programmed the visor. Left button is loud, right button is quiet.
I have NPP on my '15. How do I set up my homelink to shortcut stealth to Track modes??
THe M2W comes with FOBs. You pair a FOB to the homelink as open and close. Someone built a DIY button or kit to operate the NPP valves. Here is that information: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...e-control.html
Didnt we just go through this question a couple of days ago.....
Pull the fuse. Honestly, going through any neighbourhood at low throttle is not going to **** off anyone because its just not loud - there is a slightly lower tone but its not loud. Now at WOT it makes a difference but no one does that (well maybe someone does) .
I live in a neighbourhood, as presumably many of us do, and have never had anyone give me the stink eye let alone come running out shaking their fist at me (and I have cut out the cats so its even louder than normal)
Hi, can you please explain how you “connected” the M2W control to the visor? Thanks very much.

I was foolish. I ven traded it in which cost $$$. The reason was I was concerned about the potential valve drop. I had 9,000 miles !!!
I’m also looking to get another one.

Thanks everyone. Great information. G-d, I love this place!!!!!
True, I built my own. The M2W switch requires cutting, running wires, locating a box.. etc. etc. Wanted mine to be hidden (Our built unit fits under fuse cover and not visible removable in like 5 seconds) .. Your controlling the fuse remotely basically, and not the infotainment settings (Unit you build here has remotes to program with) If you have ability to set stealth mode, then when you hit button it will go quiet for you.

YOu program the visor to operate your garage door? You program the 2 remaining buttons to do the open and the close of the NPP valves. Same instructions to program. You push the open button for one button and the close button for the open button.
YOU MUST have NPP exhaust to mess wirh this process.

I started using the M2W, via programmed visor buttons, but then I found that Wild was really not very loud anyway. So I pulled the fuse and just leave it "wild."
PS: On a humorous note, our young neighbor boy, who loves vettes, used me as a weather forecast back when I was working. If he heard me leave for work in the vette he knew it was a good forecast for the day!
