I have a 17 and I would like to use waze for my navigation through the infotainment screen. Is it possible to download an app that will show up on the infotainment center? If so, could someone give me direction on how to do this?
If you have the Apple/Android Car Play on your infotainment then you just connect the phone, enable the car play and then run the app on your phone. Somehow now every time I connect my phone Waze starts to run.
I could be wrong, but I think your phone needs to be connected via the USB to allow Car Play to work. Plus, some USB cords will not work, must be high quality cord.
Download waze one your phone and connect it to your ride via USB. An icon will appear on you infotainment screen. I use waze all the time. I like the traffic updates.
Only gives you about a 1/2 mile warning... so depending on how fast one goes... I found out the hard way, "Police reported ahead" ... wish that was adjustable. Not that there's a better alternative.
Since we're on the subject, if Waze is connected via Apple car play, if I'm listening to satellite radio, will it still be playing in the background or will the satellite radio turn off once Waze is connected?

A good radar detector + Waze for the win. I've got a R7 on a blendmount wired into my mirror. Of course nothing is guaranteed, but knock on wood, no issues yet with all my travels through "Mexico".

Radio stays on in my Tahoe. Volume only muted when Waze speaks

I take it that using Bluetooth doesn't work and in order to use Waze you need to connect your phone via a USB cord?
Must I use a USB cable with Waze? I have Android Auto and using AAWireless to connect. Can Waze use something like that?
I use AAWireless that connects to my phone for access to Waze, Spotify, Text Messaging, etc. You must connect your phone to the USB adapter initially and then you should be all set.
I have the C2Play andapter and Waze works fine. However there are two things I noticed on long drives (Cleveland to Traverse City). First you phone will be total discharged handling the data consumed by Waze. Secondly my C2Play adapter got hot and shut dow, also attributed to the amount of data it is handling. I played around with Google maps and Apple maps, but not to that extent. Apple 6S with latest firmware in Sept 2022.
I now have an Apple 14, and it runs way cooler. I had similar issues with a direct connection to Fords Sync system, so it just may be the phones ability to process the data. I hate having the phone plugged in too long after it reaches 100%, so the C2play is a great way around the constant plug in/unplug.
Google maps has a lot of those features now. Is Waze better? I did an 1800 mile trip recently and maybe I should use Waze as well (on the way back). I have Android Auto on my 2019 GS. Really like it.

I think Waze is better. They had the functionality longer and its seems more consistent
I attended a conference at ODOT. They use systems like .Waze to feed back information on road conditions, accidents, etc. every time you identify a roadside issue, they know in a matter of minutes. This is part of the journey to the connected vehicles and ultimately autonomous vehicles. Can you imagine an autonomous Corvette?
