While the wave goes against my sensibilities as a northeasterner, I do it anyway. When they wave back, it’s nice camaraderie. When they don’t, it just confirms my initial reticence and social paranoia. That’s a win-win.
I have not had a C8 driver wave back, other than that I get waves from all other generations.
I also get a lot of Honda drivers wanting to race from a stoplight . I just smile and wave at them too.
Honda?...Really!
Just wait until you get a 40 year old guy in a minivan wanting to race you at the stop light. LOL.
My best response so far was from two young girls, 3-4 years old, in the back seat of the family Kia. They were thrilled to death to see my red 17, they were waving and pointing, dad in the front was not as thrilled!
I'm sorry, I'm italian, "the wave" is the sign (like "hello") from others owner of Corvette right? I remember to meet many Corvette during my holidays (I rented a Corvette) in USA and I remember they put out the hand of window and make a sign to me (2 finger like a "victory" sign!)

"the Wave" is alive and well here in Central New York. Whether I'm in the C7 or the '62, I almost always get a wave - sometimes not even from Corvette drivers! It might have something to do with our abbreviated Corvette driving season here in the snowy northeast . . . We're just so thankful for the good days we do get!
I still dont understand why people get so upset about this... its such a dumb thing to get your panties in a bunch about. Wave if you feel like it, if someone doesnt wave back move on with your day.

I didn't see that anyone was upset in this thread, just a couple of stick in the muds.

not saying in this thread, just in general... so many better things to put your energy towards than rather or not strangers wave at you because you have the same "insert vehicle"
Don't give up on the wave. I usually get a return wave as well as an initial wave from most Corvette drivers. I will admit sometimes I can't see inside their car due to the tinted windows.
I share my joy of driving a Corvette with a wave - not with any expectation of anything coming back. If I get a response, great. If I not, I still maintain my joy - and I continue to wave.
