Well my screen has been going blank now almost never coming back !! My car is now 9 years old and this has been doing this for several years !!! Rough roads really mess it up !!! Now my audio ( radio and USB stick) stills works and it still appears in the center display and I can change songs through the steering wheel controls !!! So The dealer auto tech spent time checking first for vehicle codes and then found multiple codes which he then did a global reset and cleared codes for the HMI module and telematics control module !!! So the service guy said that the radio might be bad or HMI bad both about 2000.00 + cost and there were no available replacements !!! So I said I will let things be as they are at this time !!! So I had to go to another stop for another errand and after I turned the car on the display came back and it did it again after my last stop !!!!!!!

Did the dealer check for loose connections? If not that, the C7 does have a history of some infotainment screen problems - my 2014 required the replacement of the screen when the display would go blank, experience random flashing of data, etc. Cost to replace, several years ago, was $1300 which also included the bezel that goes around the shifter which was broken during the repair.
I had bad connections at the HMI module. The screen would either go blank, or it would not respond. The clock would freeze and not update, same for the temperature reading. The row of buttons below the screen would become useless and the radio would be dead. The dealer replaced the screen and module which fixed the problem, but occasionally I'll hear a bit of static over the speakers and the problem reappears. Wiggling the wires that attach to the HMI module fixes it for awhile. If your radio still functions I suspect the screen, not the module...

As Elmer said, right over the driver's kick panel. There are three sets of wires attach IIRC...with snap in connectors that look a lot like old-school phone modular connectors. For whatever reason one of them seems to intermittently lose connection. This also kills the Nav system too...
Would anyone be surprised to hear that when I was a troubleshooter many times I'd follow up after someone changed a part, module, board whatever and fix it by simply cleaning and treating connections. Use the right swabs to clean the pins and inside the receptacles don't just spray and and pretend What I did didn't look impressive but it cost little and fixed the actual problem. What I've learned is that most people aren't good at what they do and those guys at the dealership are mostly in that category. The future is bleak as far as capable and caring techs.
Nope. Not surprised. There are times I've taken things apart, can't figure out why it's broken, put it together, and it works.
I had a bunch of gremlins in the infotainment, freezing screen, loud sound pops, the 3.5 aux jack wouldn't work, the GPS would freeze etc. I replaced the HMI myself at a cost of $700 for the unit. Needs to be vin set first.
