Usually they recommend the triple flush so you may have gotten enough to get some effect but I would spend the coin and get a dealership with the right equipment to flush it so you get the full effect. Dropping the pan gives some fluid changed but not as much as the full flush. So you have a lot of old fluid that absorbs water still.

No special equip need.
Just drop the pan or suck the ATF out and refill two more times and you got your triple flush.

I agree with doing the triple flush procedure as recommended by GM. It has been reported to be very successful in stopping the shudder issue with the A8 transmission.

It was very successful for my car. It truly was a significant difference in the way the shifting felt and improved the driving experience.

I don't think that is the GM procedure.

Please look up the TSB and go to the Corvette section and you'll see they just drop the pan 3 times refilling with new ATF each time.

Can you please cite? The one I am looking at says in the first line that you dump 24 quarts of fluids into the DT-45096 machine

Merely dropping the pan doesn't get rid of the fluid in the valve body or torque converter . . .

After each refill you run the engine going thru all the gears until you reach the proper trans fluid temp.
If you follow this procedure 3x the all the old fluid will removed from the trans.
I did it in my garage 4X, 2x with the Black label fluid and 2x with the Blue label fluid when it became available in 2/19.
24 quarts each time.
