Looking at a number of C7's. Some with a colored leather interior, has the entire passenger side dash in the interior color, others have just the edges in color and the rest in black. Wondering if this is just a difference in options, or maybe the dash has been replaced?
Yep. And, if you look at the brochures for each year, you can see the even different colors in the same year have a different pattern. In 2014, Kalahari and Brownstone 3LT covered the whole dash, while Adrenaline Red and Gray 3LT did not.
From my understanding, the term "dipped" only applies to the C8. Those cars have the same uniform color on the dash, headliner, trim, carpets, etc.
The only C7 that had an almost fully dipped option- would be the very rare Brownstone 3LT. Even the Spice Red and Twilight Blue design packages had black carpets.
Some folks on this Forum complained about windshield glare for the C7 3LT with non-black upper dashes, so this could be why the change was made on the C7 for later model years. Fully Dipped C8 Brownstone C7 Brownstone C7 Twilight Blue C7 Spice Red C7
Also, it's interesting that Chevy went back to the non-black upper dash on the 3LT C8. Some owners are having glare issues with the natural dip (full tan dash) and are swapping out black trim parts to help lower the glare.

I have a 2014 3LT with the grey interior and the primary dash color is black, with grey accents between the dash vents and the like...bought new so I know that is the way they come.
Has anyone found what the issue is? The glue between the dash and leather doesn’t bond? On the 2lt the dash is vinyl and the glue bonds perfect it seems?
The unfortunate part is even if it’s covered under warranty it’s not like a replacement dash or component of the dash is like a “new revised” version. Your virtually getting the same quality parts and it the issue can happen again
Surprised GM hasn’t fixed this especially it’s been like this since the C6 generation.
