Thanks for your post, Hank ... mine will not load, either. I'll give them a call.
Sorry, OP for the highjack.
I was in the exact situation. Made the call and explained my situation. The gentleman understood my dilemma and said a new USB with the correct update will be mailed to me. He did explain that they are on back order and that I will receive an email when it is on the way.
Since it’s on such a delay tells me that there are multiple customers experiencing the same problem. And/or, the fix has not been solved.

Yes, there are many that have the same problem just waiting for the new and improved version.
I do a lot of pre-planed group rides. I want to pick the roads that I want to use - not necessarily the "quickest" or "least amount of miles". For that - I use Google Maps as I have found a way to use a maximum of 20 waypoints and save the route. Google owns Waze and so...some of the Waze technology is bleeding over into Google Maps now - so SOMETIMES, it'll tell you if there's a cop that's been reported up ahead. I haven't found it to be 100% reliable with that however. If you want Waze reporting and the way that it will allow map users to communicate - then Waze is the best. To be honest though, I really like Google Map's map interface.
Back in the old days, I used to use Garmin's old computer mapping system which would let me pick the roads I wanted. However, howdays, they've "updated" their software to the point where it's just about impossible to do that. Garmin really lost their advantage and is kind of nowdays, just a "used to be". With the advent of Android Auto and Apple Car Play, very few motorists are still using stand along GPS systems. I'd never pay for one built into a new vehicle because they're always outdated and cumbersome to use.
