Not sure what my issue is. 17 z06 m7 with a mgw short throw. Been in the car for a few thousand miles with out issue. Suddenly yesterday it started grinding 7th gear. Only 7th gear. At a stop it goes into the gate just fine. But at speed it grinds momentarily and then slips in. I don't know anything about the trans in this car. Can the synchro go bad?

Take the top of the shifter off and put the gauge in and see if it got out of alignment. The gauge is pretty fool proof.
My shifter is OEM, not MGW, but I have found this to be a problem for me when I engage the clutch a little too quickly before having the shift lever completely seated.
I can't say this has happened to me in 7th gear, but it has happened to me a number of times in other gears. Certainly verifying the alignment is the first step, though.
In all seriousness this is an alignment issue and somewhat common, usually in the other direction and impacting lower gears. As Blackwater said, use the guide pin/jig that came with the MGW and reset the alignment. Also, make sure the shift rod bolt is torqued properly 22FT/LBS).
I have had syncros go bad on other cars and it will pop out and wont go into gear except at a stop. Does it feel like it is popping out? When it grinds, if you let the clutch out does it die or keep running. That is the easiest way to see if it is in gear. I wouldnt go 7th gear speeds when trying it though.
id still start pulling the center console stuff to get to the shifter to recheck bolts for tightness and the alignment of the shifter cable, etc..
did u install the shifter and use lock tight on the bolts? its possible stuff loosened up after that many miles and now you need to realign and retighten down...
hows the clutch fluid level?
hows the trans fluid level?
overall thats what I would check before really digging in things.
