Default Rear Diffuser LED lights

Has anyone replaced the rear diffuser reflectors with LED Lights that work with the brake lights like in the pic below? If so, was it necessary to pull the rear bumper to install them? Which wire is it to tap into for the brake lights? Which brand/website did you order from? I am looking at the ones from Top Flight Automotive, theirs has two rows of LED lights where others have one row of LED lights. Thanks!

Yes, I did something similar. Mine are running lights, brake lights, turn signals.

Yes, I removed the lower bumper cover. Even though I already had it off to change the exhaust, I could not have done the LED install with it in place. However, others on CF have said they were able to make the change with it in place. I also loosened, but did not remove, the upper bumper cover to access the taillight wiring harnesses on each side.

This link will help you with the wiring: LED installation. (Post #12).

Mine came from Amazon, but that was back in late 2019.

I installed the LED reflectors, but wired them to the side marker lights as I did not want to have to try and splice in the wires to the brake lights. It was tough enough fishing the wire from the reflector over to the side marker light.

There are a couple different versions of these lights.
  • There is a forum vendor offers one that does not handle turn signals.
  • There is the one I used, shown below, that handle turn signals, brakes and parking lights.
  • There is another version now that is amber instead of red.

You do not have to loosen the diffuser or remove it to install these lights. I did jack up on side to make getting underneath easier. There is a thread that detail this: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...eflectors.html

I was putting a new diffuser so it was bumper off. I tied into side markers.
