Default Traction Issues?

Just got my new c7 Stingray. I’ve been testing the waters with it and I’ve been having a lot of issues with the car not finding any traction in first or second gear. Half the time I’m not even full throttle and i will still have traction issues. It’s confusing because I have brand new michelin 4s and I live in Florida where it is over 90 degrees everyday.

It’s because they are brand new. They are slick from the mold release residue.

Makes sense. Put some miles on the tires and then see if traction improves.

I agree. They need some miles. Keep TC on unless you want to be a FAIL on youtube LOL.

On our 2017 Z51 A8, I can break the tires loose on good asphalt, up to about 30 mph. The car definitely needs more tire, which is part of the reason the GS is so popular.
It's a First World problem.

agreed! Lolol i turned traction control off for fun one day and it definitely puckered my butthole within the first few seconds of driving.

Even with TC on, the car still scares the sh*t out of me at 25-40% throttle xD

I've gone through so many different tire setups and brands trying to find the perfect grip.

What was said earlier about the tires being new and needing to break in a bit is so true.

Everytime I throw on a new set, the vehicle feels buttery and then as time goes on...it feels much more planted.

Remember, the C8 exists because the C6 and C7 couldn’t put the power down. Like he said, it’s a first world problem.

Hopefully the new will wear off and OP will be happier. But these cars take some technique to get good launches. I run autocrosses and launch isn't the main goal but definitely helps w/ times. I launch at about 1500 and only go full throttle at maybe 3000-3500. The idea is don't get the tires spinning. If they do spin, come out of the gas maybe 1/2 inch. Then go back into it but take 1-2 seconds to go full throttle. Otherwise the only choice is drag radials.
