I just put a Walmart Everstart H6 AGM battery in my C7, fits perfectly. The Walmart battery has the longest warrantee compared to this same battery sold at higher prices with other brand labels on it. $179 with a 48 month prorated warrantee. 760CCA, 120 minute reserve capacity, 70AH. It is made by Johnson Controls, who also slaps many other brand names on this same exact battery (Interstae, Die Hard, AC Delco, Duralast.....)

Costco has this H6 AGM Interstate branded battery for $169, but with only a 36 month prorated warrantee.

It even has the two built-in handles to make it easier to lower the battery into the C7 hole....

I've had the worst luck with them. Warranty is good but I'd rather not have to use it and use it several times I did.

That is what I have never known for sure from top management. Usually, it is the opinion of some grunt on the floor. It does seem like a deal to get a MB for the price of a Yugo though which is why I am skeptical. Also we used to sell a certain product under private label. Depending on what you negotiate and pay for, the factory was the same as we're the ingredients. We varied the ratio of filler to main ingredients based on what you paid for, we put it in whatever bag you supplied with whatever name and logo or name.

By coincidence, I'm going over to Walmart in a couple hours to buy this same battery after doing lots of online comparison shopping. I agree with your choice and hope to get good service out of this battery which will be replacing my seven year old AC Delco.

I - we did it! I bet a G M engineer NEVER tried to replace the battery himself!!!
What a pain in the &ss .No handle, battery will not come strain up, side panel gets in the way and way too many wires for it!
I put a Interstate in for $173

Great to hear, glad it went well for you !!! Wondering, if there is something thin, like two 3- 4 in. strips of aluminum on each side in multiple spots to keep the battery from snagging the sides ???
BTW, what month were you brought into the world in the wonderful year of '46 ?

I don't believe engineering designs according to what the end user wants. They design it according to the direct employer's parameters. If my engineer doesn't work according to MY parameters or I will find someone who will. I don't blame the engineer. My name is NOT on his paycheck.

The video is adequte but anyone that wears a watch and ring while changing a battery does not really understand the ramifications of touching something the wrong way against the battery terminals. Dumb, dumb, dumb...

In my experience, understanding is insignificant to caring. I don't care. No amount of understanding helps if I care, sooner or later I will find a way to understand.

If your battery is below 3 volts almost all smart maintainers / chargers will not turn on the charging circuit mode.

You will need to use an 'old dumb charger' using a low current setting to get the battery voltage high enough so a smart charger can take over and finish the charge.

After the battery voltage has recovered to a high enough voltage > 5 - 6 volts with the dumb charger, change over to the smart charger at a low rate of ~ 10 amps and see if the battery will recover

The easy way to pull that battery out of the hole is 2 vice grips using 1 on each post and lift

I use this too. Made getting the original battery out easy. New battery came with a proper handle.

Another way to do this is to put a good battery in parallel with the bad one and the charger on the good one until the dead one comes back enough to tell a charger to keep going.
Many of the jump packs, including my Antigravity unit has a "bypass" or override switch on it that forces it to charge a stone-dead battery.

Thanks for the video. I'm new to modern stuff, I'm an old car guy with a 19 GS that will need a battery sooner than later although the original is still in the hole and works fine. I'm not looking forward to the swap.

I don't. I'd rather dispose of it when needed and have it cheaper than a much more expensive unit that requires special equipment. I might not have that car any longer. Cars are like many other things and being more and more disposable. IOW, parts are not made as much. Back when I was a kid, the TV sucked compared to today but we could fix it for eons. Same as the washing machine and fridge. Much simpler to throw the thing away and get something newer with way better features.
