Default Adding competition seat?

Has anyone added the competition seats to their car? Wondering how easy/straightforward it is and of course cost?

I’m actually looking to purchase a c7 and I’d like to have the competition seats but not too many seem to have them, so I’m wondering if I bought one that had all the other options I wanted except those, if it was reasonable to add them. Thanks!

I'd say that your best plan is to keep looking for one with comp seats. you will probably have a hard time finding used comp seats, keeping in mind that 14,15,16,17 are the same seat and that 18 and 19 are different and not interchangeable.

you can convert the regular seats to comp seats and there are a few threads on here about how to do it, but right now C7 parts, especially interior parts are not easy to get from GM.

appreciate the feedback, I’d prefer to get one that came that way, so will keep looking, but I’ve seen several that have all the other options so was hoping to shorten my wait time!

Get the one with all the options you want even if it doesn't have the comp seats; you might miss out on a great car because of it and you might end up liking the GT seats.

I've drove cars with both seats back to back, but they didnt have the other options i wanted. The GT seats are nice and probably be good enough, but the competition seats fit my body so well. I worry if i get one with the GT seats i'll be wishing got the competition seats! So guess i'll just hold out for one with all the options i want, including the seats.

Occasionally someone will list a set of comp seats for sale, but the price is up there and usually they are located clear across the country so shipping would be quite a bit. Plus finding a set in the color you want can be a challenge.

If you can find a car that originally came with comp seats it sure would make things a lot less complicated.

All you need to do is order the seatbacks as the base is the same...I would have never thought of passing on my fully optioned Z07 because it didn't have comp seats..I guess it depends on if you are really going to track the car a lot or you just like the look of them too. Anyway 1st world problem, lol

There is a thread here but I don't remember which sub forum it is in so search them all. One thing to note is that the difference in the comp seat is all in the back, the base is the same. So doing the upgrade isn't all that terrible.

the seat bottoms from gt to comp aren't the same but the difference is minimal. theres an extra rib for sturdiness and the cushion is firmer. my z07 had everything im wanted BUT comp seats so I bought it and ddid the conversion. took about 5-6 hrs and best mod I've done to date

if you would like to do a full complete conversion the seat bottom cushion and the cover are different, not the same as the gt seat

Sweet ride. I've always liked that Anniversary Edition Grand Sport. I saw one at a show a few years ago built with the Adrenaline Red interior w/Competition Seats. Beautiful Corvette.

A few have done the Comp Seat conversion which swaps out the seat backs but the bottoms have stayed the same. To me, that's only provides 1/2 a solution as I enjoy the firmer seat bottoms that the Competition Seats offer as I have had lengthy butt time in both the GT seats and the Competition Seats. I outfitted my 2019 with the Z07 package and Competition Seats and I'm really glad I did. My biggest mental price hurdle to overcome was that the Competition Seats are made of the Milano leather vs. the Nappa leather that is part of my 3LZ package.

what is different from the 18 & 19 comp seats? Can you still swap out just the seat backs on them?
