Did and was most impressed with them vs a normal dealer. They replaced the tires, and buffed the entire car. They seemed happy to do so at my request, to close the deal. Did pick up the extended support, but thankfully have not had to use it.
I know others will say yes & had some good experiences. In the past I have seen what they do to the vast amount of cars they take in. Sell a car yes, buy a car a big no for me.
We bought ours from them, along with their extended warranty. The warranty paid for itself when the infotainment screen and water pump needed replacing.
We've bought three vehicles from them in total, including two that were transferred in from distant branches.
Very pleased with all three transactions. Oh, and we sold them a car, too.
I've sold them four or five cars. Last year I bought a C8 from them. No reason not to buy from them versus any other dealer if you like the car and the price. I've heard their warranties are fantastic, but have no experience with that. A guy on Jalopnik documented his many warranty claims on a Land Rover (well, duh) that he bought from CarMax. The warranty support he received was excellent.
I bought a Vette from Carvana and returned it. It came with a 7 day return policy and 100 day warranty. I bought an extended warranty for a reasonable price. It was a good car but I wasn't going to put it in the shop to have the fuel pump replaced even if covered by GM. It only had 15000 miles but it was not well taken car of. They offered to fix some of the cosmetics issues but for $45K that should have been done. It had new tires different brands in the front than the back. No runs flats. They offered to swap it out but I refused.
We have been very satisfied with CarMax. Have purchased 6 cars from them over the years, including 3 we currently own. Never had a bad experience with any of them, and CarMax bent over backwards to earn our business. All the cars were shipped to us for a test drive first. They came with a 30 day/1500 mile return and full refund if not satisfied. I also purchased their extended warranty for each of them, but have not had to submit any claims yet. I would highly recommend you consider purchasing from them.
What are your impressions on what they do when they take a vehicle in?
This was south FLA. They would take a car in, look it over, fix the bare minimum they could & then sell it. I know at least a dozen people that took that car they bought to a independent shop & they found all sorts of problems. When trying to get carmax to fix they refused because it passed some BS inspection they are supposed to give the car before sale.
I also saw with my own eyes(I worked IT for them) someone buy a car, drive it down the block & it caught fire. Ford ABS switch recall that was never done & should have been before sale.
This was years ago. Looking at their website looks like warranties are much better now & so is return policy. In the end if the good things out way the bad, try it. Most good reviews from the forum.
I bought my 2017 from them in 2019. I had them ship it to south Florida. It had less than 2000 miles on it. I could have walked away, if I wanted to, but I still had to pay for the shipping. Everything went perfectly. I have enjoyed the vehicle and would buy another corvette from them.
Well I spoke on the phone with them 3 times and had 4 emails. No response to last one asking if they had a carfax they could email me. Ordered my own carfax and it has been in an accident in 2017. Was in a sideswipe accident. Only part not damaged was left front corner. Sideswiped and then hit a median.

Did that not show up on the History report they provide for their cars?
What is it that you imagine would make a difference whether it is a Jeep Wrangler or a Corvette? Nothing special about a Corvette that only the chosen few can sell it.

They receive hundreds of calls and emails. You want to talk? Go in front of them. You browsed what you want and decided. Go spend some time and talk to them. In my fantasy, a salesman talks to everyone at the same moment in time. Reality is that I would filter it out. First priority is the guy in front of me. Last priority is the clown calling me to call him back or sending an email. I expect that whether I am at a retail store or buying a car. If the guy at Napa puts me on hold while he handles the call, we're done. If I am on the other end of the line, I understand my place and wait.
