Is it OK to leave it in the auxiliary socket when not in use? Rather than plugging and unplugging all the time. I've read conflicting information on this. If it is unplugged from the wall socket it seems it would be OK to leave it plugged into the aux socket.

I leave all of mine connected to the cars, but unplugged from the wall, for brief periods (i.e., hours) away from the house and have never had a problem. That said, I disconnect them completely if we're going to be gone for an extended period (days/weeks).
According to Page 9 of its manual, US 3300 Corvette Model 1051 Battery Chargers have very low Back Current Drain (i.e., current the charger uses from the battery when the wall plug is not connected) of only 1.3 mA, or about 1 Ah per month.
