My brother’s 2014 Stingray has instrument panel lights that go very dim once the light sensor kicks in as it gets dark. I can dim them even more or black them out with the adjustment ****. At it’s brightest, the instrument panel lights are barely legible. The HUD is as bright as ever. Turning the **** all the way clockwise turns on the interior lights as it should. Bad controller behind the adjustment ****? Is this a quirk of the ‘14 model? My ‘16 doesn’t have this problem.
On this car the infotainment screen is bright enough but not the instruments.
Mine is the same way.
The instrument cluster sensor is independent of the headlights.
I have had mine get brighter and darker regardless whether you have the headlights on auto or manual.
Dawn and dusk are the worst times to drive with this setup.
Once completely dark outside, although dim on its highest setting, the cluster is more visible. Then at dawn, when it gets brighter outside, the full lighting kicks in and it's real bright then.
No settings in the infotainment for that. I wonder if the dealer can make adjustments to its sensitivity or brightness level.
I would love for my cluster to stay full bright when the dimmer wheel is full on.
