I've been using the Proclip for a short while now and question it's staying power.
I installed it on the grab handle, but notice it constantly slides down over bumps. Is it supposed to be a tighter fit on the back? Does it slot all the way down or is it supposed to be sitting raised out? I didn't wedge it in as I figured it would scrape the leather.
Thoughts?

If you install it as instructed, it'll work as designed. I've had it in .y car for a few years now and it hasn't moved at all. Also has no damage for scrapes to the area it's fastened to.
I am actually about to install this today in my c7 with the wireless charger. If you didnt install following the directions, I would not expect it to perform correctly. They include a plastic gap widener in the kit which should be totally safe on the leather install correctly! im trying to find the installation guide videos that were made here.

No issue with mine staying in place, but I installed it as directed.

I have a 3Lz with the Alcantara. Is the gap tighter than the leather. My gap is so tight you’d definitely have to pry it apart to get the edge in. My concern is not the scraping, but the separation in the gap. Especially if I removed it. I dont think the gap is going to tighten up again and look like crap
Appears to be how I have mine. First pic is a little out of focus, but is what I'm looking for of it not being flush.
Thanks!
If I remember correctly, you're supposed to put the underside in first, wedged into the crease/seam, then "pull" the top around and use the separator tool to open a small gap at the upper crease/seam. It should be a snug fit once installed.
I bought and installed one in the last C7 I bought after I upgraded to HMI 2.5 and added CarPlay and Android Auto.
I never had a problem with the Proclip for as long as I owned the car. I left the Proclip in the car when I sold it. A bonus for the buyer.
We installed ours following the directions, sort of. The top fit in easily. I struggled to get the bottom to insert in the gap. Tried the spreader tool and it did not make a difference. My wife took over; she is good at small hand tasks. She struggled a few minutes and then not doing anything special it just "popped" in. Its snug as a bug; no sign of sliding with a phone on long trips and rallying. So, I can't say exactly how we did it but in it went.

Thanks gents! Looking through the pics and vid, perhaps I need to use the spreader purposefully to get the backed hooked in there. I'll see if I can get a before and after pic next time I'm in the car.
I pulled off the passenger side rectangular trim that is at the top of the boomerang shaped trim using a trim removal tool, installed the Pro Clip, and then reinstalled the trim piece. Makes it a lot easier especially when using the 3M adhesive tape on the Pro Clip.
