I finally bought the wide angle mirrors from Sandyeggo and installed them. Took a couple of days to get used to the depth perception issue, but we've had them for about three years now and love -em.

Bought a pair of those convex mirrors from the same folks. I’ve had them on for a few months and they did lessen the blind spots but I wanted a better solution.

I realize this is an old thread, but do you still have your C7 Blanz? If so, can you share a picture of the vent with the indicator installed?
