If you're like me, and you need to review the video while you're doing it, it'll probably take you a couple of hours. I prefer to be slow & deliberate while taking the console apart, and putting it back together.
It took me about 3 hours from start to finish and that included a call to George at MGW. I took pictures as I disassembled the console and watched the video over and over. It was an awesome upgrade.
Agree with the 3-4 hour estimate for the first time install. Be very careful with the trim piece on the console that goes along the drivers seat up to the dash. It pops out from back (rear) to front (dash) and then the very front tab you slide forward, do not pull it strait out like the others or you'll break it. Everything else is pretty straight forward.

Never have tried to swap out the factory shifter, but sounds like there are a lot of resources to guide you through the install. Best of luck and post up your review of the process.
I did my own too. Really straightforward, and there are videos and guides around. here is one, for example: MGW INSTALL
One of the trickier things was getting the boot off of the stock shifter. Attached right below the ****. You are supposed to be able to lift up and turn the ring it's attached to, but it can be a challenge to do this and not damage the leather. In my case the boot was attached to the right with some small staples, and those bent, releasing the leather with no damage! Others might chime in with their experiences.
By FAR the thing that took me the most time was digging out the small allen wrench I dropped down the tunnel during the install. Luckily I had a borescope and a magnet, but it was a real pain. Please stuff a rag or two into the space while you are working.
Hardest for me was setting the dynomat & sound deadning stuff in the tunnel. Hard to see exactly where to place in the vids. I know I placed 1 on the wrong area. PITA .
The boot came off the shifter ring, so mine is held on with just pressure. So far it's tight enough to not fall off. And my **** isn't lined up right. It's cocked left a little. I need to open it back up to adjust.
I took my time and it was right at 2 hours start to finish. It's not very hard, just some tight spaces to work around and those last few alan bolts take FOREVER to tighten as you can only go about a quarter turn at a time and you have to be really careful not to drop the alan wrench down in the space above the torque tube.
Other wise, it's pretty easy and you should get the alignment jig with the shifter.
Take your time. 2-3 hours. Hardest part was trimming the original rubber boot and getting it to fit. Put some Armor-All on to help it slip over the shifter boot.
