If stripe is added - it seems as if the very top is not handled often to wear it out.

Good to know.

After having to live with a C2 and the no clearance issue with that huge wheel, I love the flat bottom wheel in the C7s. I run my seat all of the way back and the column all the way up on every exit. I also like the handle in the center that is great to grab onto as I pull myself into the seat. The only issue I have with the wheel and paddles is that when I start out making a left turn and accelerating, the up-shift paddle is way over to the left, and shifting can be a little difficult. I do, however, love the fact that while in auto, I can still down or up shift at any time and still stay in auto mode.

^^^^^
The C6 was much better in that regard: push either paddle to upshift, pull either paddle to downshift. You could even do the "push" by pressing a finger under the bottom of the paddle if it was in an awkward position.

On the C7, it's another one of those "WTF were they thinking?" changes.

I've learned to live with it by not accelerating too fast so that an upshift is necessary. Probably safer too.

Not sure about C7, but C6 had a lot of issues when running the seat back and forth with the airbag sensor wire/connector that is under the driver's seat. It would repeatedly stretch/bend that wire and cause it to lose connection (at the connector?) under the seat and then the car would throw an airbag light on the dash. It was a common problem on the C6 and I'm pretty sure there was a TSB on it, to replace that wire harness with a longer one and some additional fasteners, which was a real pain and expensive if the dealer did it. We had that problem on my son's C6. Knowing typical GM, I doubt they fixed that on the C7, but maybe we all got lucky and they did correct that problem, I don't know for sure.

Bob, I do not know of any C7 issues with this system. Many of the 2LTs and 3LTs have auto seat settings to ease entry and exit. I can't imagine that would not create a lot of complaints if it was a problem. All of my GM cars have this feature but I have never had any issues with them. Thanks for the heads up though.
