I have a question. I have a 2017 Corvette. Like the 2014's -2015's and most 2016's and the 2018-19's all have pressure for the Michelin Pilot Super Sports set at 30PSI on the door jam. For some nutty reason (Maybe Cafe standards) my 2017 with the same tires has 35PSI which is way too hard. I run them at 30PSI like the other years. My issue is when my tire pressure just drops to just 28 the TPMS warning light and info center give me the warming. This is about 7 PSI below the 35 required for my year. I know all the other models with the 30PSI can't be alarming at 28PSI that would be just 2lbs low. Can the TPMS warning which seems to be 28psi on my car be lowered a bit? Maybe to 26PSI? Don't know if there is a way to do that. Really if I have the tires set to 30PSI and it is a cold evening in the garage it will trigger the low tire pressure. Folks that have the 30PSI requirement when does your TPMS trigger low pressure warning and at what level? Thank You
I recall a discussion about this in which it was asserted that cars with the 18/19 wheels had the 35 PSI, but cars with the 19/20 had the lower pressure. I have a 2017 w/ith the 18/19 wheels and run them at 35 PSI cold. Never tried any other pressure...

The tire pressure is set to hold the weight of the car. If you have the same size tires then the pressures should be the same. If the car requires a 35 psi inflation pressure then I suspect the tire size of your car's tire contact area is smaller than the others. To regain the lost support the tire pressure would need to be raised. Assume the car weighs 3000 lbs. At 30 psi the amount of total tire area contacting the road is 100 square inches. If you have smaller tires that only present a total contact patch area of 86 square inches then it will take a 35 psi pressure to maintain the same support. All you have separating you from a bad ending is a contact area that is roughly the size of four 8.5x11 sheets of paper.
Run them at 31 or 32 to give yourself a little headroom. There was an "Ask Tadge" question several years ago and he said they upped the pressure for CAFE reasons.
No way I'm aware of to change the settings. Pretty sure that alarm threshold is in the BCM. At best the GDS2 might be able to access it as Dave mentions.

I have not seen any threads stating that the tire pressure reading can be adjusted. And my 2014 has a sticker on the door jamb that says 30 psi cold is the recommended tire pressure.
Both the 2016 and 2017 with 18/19 wheels say 35 psi on the door jamb and it was done to increase MPG's. There is no way to adjust the warning settings. I had a 2016 with 18/19's that I changed to 19/20's and just had to live with the 27/28 psi warnings. Just a minor annoyance in the scheme of things.
I just got my December diagnostics, however, there was no warning on the dash.
Thanks for the info. Yes in my case with 35PSI tiires it alarms after being down 7psi that was 28PSI. So basically you wouldn't get that alarm until about 23lbs. My car at your pressure has the TPMS light on in my dash.
I just found some old theads where folks that had 30PSI on the door Jam, the TPMS light/alarm came on at 23lbs which coinsides with my 28lbs for my 35 (too hard) MPSS. So it seems maybe next time I get a new set of tires, I will install the TPMS sensors from a 30 PSI required car from th parts department.
