Default Stage Two EOS Splitter Arrived

My new stage 2 splitter from EOS arrived today, and I must say they sure do a nice job of packaging it from damage. My only issue is the two winglets. First, they did not send the 4 bolts and nots and second, they did nor drill the holes completely through the winglets or the splitter itself. Has anyone else had this issue and did you simply go the Home Depot, Lowes or Ace and get some black bolts with nuts and also did you get ones that could be countersunk?

Mine came with the nuts and bolts but I hated them (too short) and so I used Home Depot hardware as well. They did you a favor.

Stage 3, but same bolts and same middle... For the cost I am very happy with the fit and finish. I don't spend too much on splitters since they will eventually need replacing!

The EOS I got with the stage 2 winglets didn't come with fasteners either. I found some black button head cap crews, drilled holes and used Nyloc nuts to hold them secure. Some may not like the look, but it is fine for me!

I purchased a Stage 2 front spoiler from EOS. Mine didn’t come with the mounting hardware either for the winglets.

I used double sided tape and counter sunk the screws. The material is soft enough that I just took a drill bit and counter sunk the screw hole by hand. No drill needed.

No screws or holes in mine either. I used some of the included double sided tape plus my own #8 screws typically used for cabinet pulls. Pained them black and secured the nuts with thread locker. Don’t over tighten!

Mine came with double sided tape EOS basically tells you to stick them on. Some have done this and say they stay on, I bought button head screws from Amazon. Just drill the existing holes out use double sided tape to get it positioned where you want and drill the holes on to the splitter. Honestly the toughest part for me was my OCD I kept repositioning the wings till they were perfectly even. Here is what I got from Amazon. https://a.co/d/aKeMbAr also these https://a.co/d/anEZ4Xk

I ended up going to Ace and got black counter sink bolts, nuts and lock washer. Drilled the holds then used a counter-sink bit. I also used the double-sided tape to hold it in place while I drilled the holes. I will post a few pictures in a day or two. Bad weather here on the west coast of Florida.

I ordered mine without the winglets.
It goes on the car on Friday. Doing that with a Z grill and side skirts at the same time.
I will see after the install if the winglets are a must. They can be ordered after the fact.

On my last C7, I installed a stage 3. It was menacing from the front but the sides looked awkward. You sure miss not having the spats if you put a stage 3 on a Stingray.

I think I would just go ahead and drill the holes, buy the screws/bolts and do the install.

I'd recommend nyloc nuts rather than lock washers. Lock washers require more torque to work, which you may not want on plastic and will also dig into the part, marking it. Just an fyi.

The winglets are hollow so you can’t really tighten the screws. You need locking nuts and/or glue/thread locker to make sure the nuts don’t back off the screws. The double sided tape might do the job alone but I wasn’t going to trust it on its own.

Default no screws used here

I used 3m taps and 3m tape primer, have been through the rain several times and speeds upwards of 160mph.. I didnt like the screw idea either so I did alot of research. It just sucks you already screwed it or I could have sent you a procedure and parts list to do it like mine

Guys if you never take any advice I give in life just listen to this one. Whenever you use double stick tape get yourself a q-tip and rub this stuff where you plan on sticking the tape, let it dry for a min then stick the tape. you will damn near be able to lift the car up by the tape then. I been using it for over 20yrs and i dont sell anything but this is a must for double sticking anything

Not sure why EOS recommends the double-sided tape seeing it is attached with the amount of the factory bolts and then the supplied screws.

Be sure it’s labeled as “VHB”. It will be black on both sides. Walmart sells a 3M double sided tape labeled as “super strength”. It is dark gray on both sides. Avoid this product!

yeah same here, but i used double sides tape along with using my own screws from the inside into the winglets but not though it completely to the outside.
overall for the price of it and the decent paint its a winner in my book.
