You need to show us a photo so we know WHICH bracket.
I was looking for a heads up, l just started looking for a C7 the only thing for sure is it’s going to be either 2014/15/16. I didn’t think there would be more then one bracket.
Thanks anyway.

If the car has a license plate bracket that follows the contours of the grille, it will come off with no damage to the fascia - it does not have screws that go into the fascia.

Depending on which C7 you are looking at there are two different brackets in use. The standard bracket that comes with the Stingray and the optional Aero Plate that is included with the GS and Z06 in addition to the standard bracket..
This one is what GM terminology calls a 'license plate bracket'. It overlaps the painted area on the front fascia and will likely cause rub marks on the paint. It is fastened to the grille by expandable plastic screws, similar to drywall mollys, that pass through holes in the grille. Use of this bracket does not require drilling through any parts.
This mount is called an 'aeroplate', and I believe it's the reason parts counter staff may not locate it if they're asked for a license plate bracket. It mounts neatly within the grille opening using the same plastic fasteners as the first bracket, and likewise uses existing grille holes so no drilling is necessary anywhere. A license plate will need to be slightly bent tin the middle to fir the aeroplate.
I've got the part numbers for these somewhere. I'll dig them up and post them when I find them.

I have the plate and fastener for the one in the first image. Parts numbers should be 23111885 and 25120108. I would sell both of them to you for 35 USD; you pay the shipping.
Makes me thankful that Ohio does not require a front plate, so I've never had to worry about this problem (the bracket came along with my 2017 Z06 when I purchased it new, but was not mounted, and it stayed that way!)
