The way around The Club (steering/brake mechanical lock) is 30 seconds with a hack saw.
Good insurance, a throttle control app lock, and an Apple AirTag are a perfect combination of solutions.
I have AirTags in all my luggage and they work great.
30 seconds? Must be a better hack saw than anything I’ve ever used. I’m sure the saw would eventually work however. Your use of the throttle control app and the Air tags sound like a good idea worth considering.
It only deters the casual thieves looking for joy rides. The pro's know how to drive stick.
I don't even think about it. I live in a low crime community, locking the doors is probably pointless. I also park in a garage and insure it. It's not my only vehicle and not something I'm emotionally attached to, but dealing with the insurance aftermath is likely going to be the biggest PITA.

To disable a steering wheel lock you just "freeze" the lock cylinder and insert a screwdriver then smack it with a hammer . One minute at best lol

The steering wheel "club" can be removed quickly by cutting part of the steering wheel with a good hack saw or battery recip saw. Having said that....if the perp has a few cars to choose one...path of least resistance.
In reality MOST stolen cars are Hyundai and Kia unless you leave your car unlocked with the keys in it or you leave your keys in your other car and its unlocked then the thief finds them and steals it......I see this everyday. 95% of car thieves are kids looking for the easy target a low number are doing anything sophisticated. I wouldn't go crazy.
as mentioned earlier the car came with a security system. Beyond those two things I don’t do anything else. I’m not going to hide my keys in special pouches or any other fancy things. That’s a lot of trouble and I’ve got insurance if someone manages to swipe it while I’m not around
Federal HST is my choice. I'd use it only if I am in the car and my life is threatened. Not going to shoot someone over some car. Way too much risk for bystanders and paperwork.
Me neither. If any of those things had more than a theoretical chance of working, insurance companies would be handing them out. Why not? They buy in bulk and a $5 pouch is now $1 and that MITIGATES the chances of them paying out at your inconvenience? They'd be all over it like white on rice. Remember they wanted you to buy ABS cars when it first came out by giving you a discount? I always say that I am paying them to worry and if I have to worry, I will cancel it or get liability only which is much cheaper and "self insure", aka cheap out and cry later when I don't have the money to pay.

Good insurance is when it pays without trouble during loss.
Air tags are cool but walk me through what you are going to do, step by step. It relies on having a phone 10 meters away. Say you get the location. What now? Bring your posse to go beat his ***? Might be faster than calling the cops who will not consider it a high priority item. The pieces that are worth anything will probably be in a container for Abu Dhabi before the cops come knocking. You really want the car back after all it's been through till the cops stop them?

Think those joyriding guys could start a C7 without the key? Can YOU? I see it done on TV all the time. Connect this wire and tap that wire and it lights up, you drive off. Pretty easy.
Is it more difficult than an accident? My accident was pretty simple. Get a police report and the insurance takes over. Hardest part was to give them the VIN and the breakdown of what features to get max benefit.
I use my Soler Throttle Controller, has a throttle lock in the App. Had forgot to disable it once and I was like WTF is going on, then remembered... Lol.
Ditto on the Solar. One of the reasons I bought it. I Like mine much better than the Peddle Commander I had in my F150 that caused my Coyote to go into limp mode.
In all seriousness, It's so true! I can count everyone I know on my two hands that can drive a Manual Transmission.
The one time I took my M7 back to the dealer it was purchased from, they had to get a lady from accounting to come out and move my car from the service lane. None of the car jockies or service writers could drive a manual.

Cool. Now I know that it's safe from the service facilities and by extension, the world. Bet most of the people there don't know how to play cricket or ride a horse we'll so I should be able to tie my horse up at the saloon and leave my cricket stuff on the horse.
