Why? I don't expect Ford dealership people to know how to start, much less drive a Model A Ford. People don't bother to learn old fashioned tech since it isn't in daily use. Beyond swapping a carburetor, I don't want to do anything on a motor with one. Don't even want to own anything with one unless I had to like the John Deere. Changed everything else to electrical.
Only IF you are nearby and only if they don't shoot back and only if you don't mind the paperwork involved. Bullet leave the muzzle and there are lots of questions. Now if you know anything about construction and there is a new site pouring concrete, all you need is bleach and you're golden.
Younger thieves have no idea how to drive a car with a man pedal. Lots of older ones too. Anyone, even a 12 Y.O. can hop into an automatic and drive it.

Besides towing it away and you leaving the keys in the car, how would your 12 yo start it up? What's he going to do? Join 2 wires and tap the third to them? Please show me how YOU would do it. Now someone who's job is to steal cars with possible stick transmission will know how to do all this and not be able to drive stick? Wishful thinking. More likely fantasy.
I am getting an Igla installed on Thursday this week. Like the options it has, and as mentioned here it won't stop a flatbed theft, but will give me some peace of mind with the PIN, OBDII blocking, and other items. As always, YMMV.

Why doesn't it give your insurance company peace of mind? I would think they would appreciate anything that helps them since they are the biggest loser if you get your car stolen. You are out the deductible and they are on the hook for way more. I checked and none will give me a break on buying it.

It might, will be hitting them up after to see. I am assuming different insurance companies might treat it differently, will see what USAA does with that info. This was more for my peace of mind, if it gives them some as well, it's a bonus to them and my potential rates.

Don't know about USAA. Most of the major ones don't consider it a worthwhile investment and if they, with all their resources and research cannot see a significant difference by mitigating losses, I'm not letting the selling companies talk me into some placebo that makes me feel better but doesn't do much.

Totally understand your position, hoping you understand mine. Hence, YMMV. :-)
I worry more about my C2 getting stolen but it doesn’t see regular use. I’m still of the mind the Soler throttle controller is the way to go. No one can stop a flatbed but no one can drive a car that won’t move from idle. Also, to an earlier point the AirTags in my luggage work from significant distances so I have one in my C7 in addition to good insurance. USAA already provides a discount for an alarm. I doubt you get extra credit for any other disabler. I retired as a senior executive at USAA, so I’ll find out.
