Some 14-16 vettes had delamination issues from the factory. My 16 did, but the crack was not a part of my problem. But I've seen similar cracks like yours over the years. And to answer your next question, because the delamination issue is known, NO, GM will not admit or cover it. Best to file a claim with your insurance company

While GM should cover the replacement as I would bet it is a defective windshield, chances are they won’t. Turn it in under your comprehensive coverage on your insurance.

My insurance did not cover it.
I did not have the crack but did have the delamination.
They said it was a manufacturer defect.
Not sure if they would have covered it had it had the crack the OP has or not.
This happened to my 2016 C7 and was a know issue at the time. Had to do with the locator tabs that locate the windshield when it is installed on the assembly line. Recommendation from GM was to cut off the tabs when installing by hand. It has nothing to do with temps, speed or loads of any kind."
