My first car was a '72 Ford Torino handed down to me from my Dad in 1983. He had named it Charlie. My Mom's car way back then was a '72 Dodge Polara she named Lucy. Where those names came from, I have no idea. Interestingly, I don't recall them naming any cars after that...
I have never named any of my cars...although, as noted above, I have invented a few colorful adjectives when working on them.
At one point, I had a 91 ZR-1 and my 2014 Z51 in my stable at the same time. The ZR-1 was named "Beast" and having the beautiful RBM Convertible next to it gave us the idea for "Beauty". So, that's the name that stuck.
Beauty and the Beast:
My C7 is named Nibbs. Part of the name of the dealer i bought her from. Great experience and unfortunately the great sales person I bought it from passed.

Always named my cars, always rub the steering wheel when I notice 00 as the last 2 digits on the odometer, always ask them for a good trip before we leave out to drive a long way, and Thank them for the good safe trip when we get home. I feel like its good karma and If I show them respect and appreciation they with return the gesture,
I know Corny but never been left on the side of the road yet...
That was my dream car as a kid. The name kind of comes from that, but my girlfriend thought her car could take mine. I told her that her car would be the nail and I would be the sledgehammer. The name stuck.
