Thankfully, I didn't have a graft. The surgeon used bone from a cadaver.
Actually, that is a bone graft, referred to as an allograft, when cadaver bone is utilized. When a graft is obtained from your own bone tissue, this is known as an autograft.
I have successful spine and cervical fusion, like 100% success, really put a good effort into your therapy, I also cleaned up my diet and lost a few pounds to help out, it makes a difference, good luck in your recovery

That's encouraging. Today it's been exactly 2 weeks since the surgery. Still a lot of pain and I have to use a friggin' walker to get around. Everyone says stay patient it's all a process. I've never been a patient man, this is kicking my ***

keep up the good work. Your car will be waiting for you patiently, even if you’re not patient
Here we have Memorial Day weekend with car shows up the wazoo, and here I sit recovering from this back surgery. Sometimes life just reaches up and punches you right in the mouth!!!
Here's an update on my spinal fusion surgery. The surgery was performed 5/9, and here it is 6/21 and I'm still using a walker. During surgery they had to move things around which in turn aggravated some nerves. My right leg only has maybe 50% strength right now which they say is pretty normal and will get better with time. They used a robot assist in the surgery, but to do that they had to make sure it was completely stable. So they drove a spike of some kind into my right hip to mount it to. The hip pain although much better is something I'm sick & tired of. Tough to get a good nights sleep. I'm having physical therapy coming to my home twice a week, and they're pretty confident I'll be much better in 60 days. At least I'm able to drive, but only my SUV.....NOT the Vette yet. I'm going to end up missing an entire summer before all is said and done. THIS SUCKS!!!!!!!
Too bad I'm not close enough to drive it for ya on a regular basis. But, despite that, take care, follow the recovery instructions to the letter, and enjoy again when you can!
For those of you that are interested, here's the latest on my back surgery saga. I'm no longer needing a walker, I'm able to get out and about walking carefully as my right leg still isn't 100%. The really good news is that yesterday I was for the first time since May 8th able to get in and out of my GS. Now the bad news....a frickin' tropical storm is now hammering us here in the Myrtle Beach area so I can't get out. They say it'll be with us until Saturday!!!! I can't seem to win!
Be careful. These cars a hard on a good back. I hope you have some smooth running tires. Those runflat pacing tires will hammer you.
Speedy recovery to you.
Sounds to me like you are! Great to hear you're healing up and that drive isn't as far away as it used to be. Another updated needed when you get that chance to take her out again.
The c7 is basically the world's fastest physical therapy test lol. I had to go through the same recovery grind (had a posterior cervical fusion by Dr. Wheeler in Dallas and getting in and out of the car was the final boss battle. Just treat the pt like a track day and you'll be back behind the wheel before you know it. definitely don't try a cold start if your back isn't ready for the vibration 😅.

The latest on my condition after the spinal fusion I had in May of '24. I have no pain sitting or sleeping. It's only when I walk that it's murder, unless I'm pushing a shopping cart. Something about using the carts relieves any pain I have. Still only have about 80% strength in my right leg. It'll probably never be normal because of the permanent nerve damage. But the good news is I can get in the car and drive all day long without any problem. I did a 6800mi. road trip last summer, and I plan on another one this summer in my new C8. As I like to say....Die with memories....not regrets!!

One battle, one victory at a time! Keep on rocking
Yeah I've been there done that with the three surgeries. First the lower sciatica area I think that was May 2016. Did the l5 to l1 fusion for the lower back, major, that was done in 2017 pacifically the winter. And just recently T10 to T12 fusion. Last Friday the weather was nice I took the C7 out for the first time and 3 and 1/2 months or maybe 4 months I can't remember. I'm just 6 weeks out of my surgery but getting in and getting out wasn't bad at all and the ride was smooth. Back surgery sucks I'm not doing it ever again.

Yikes!!! At least mine was done minimally invasive. I had like 16 little incisions that only required bandaids. Looks like they were getting ready to filet you.
