I have these two pairs of wires cut from the main bundle behind the waterfall of a 2015 Z06 convertible. Does anyone know or have a reference to find out what these wires are for? Dr side; lt bl/ brn stripe & violet/ blk stripe Pass side; lt bl/ blk stripe & brn/ lt bl stripe
That IS the factory harness right behind the carpeted edge of the dr and pass seats. This car was stripped from a theft and I'm working on it trying to get it back to working order. This car is so far beyond what I'm used to my head spins. That's why I need help on this thing. Whoever stole this car must've had a reason to slice into that main bundle behind the seats and cut those particular wires. What connected to those wires? I don't have a reference or pic to go by.
Nothing was cut or damaged in that area that I can tell. (behind the waterfall) The wires I'm concerned with are in the bundle behind the carpeted ledge.

Someone mentioned the OnStar module is/ was missing from this spot on the car. Makes sense the OnStar would be disabled during a theft. I'm wondering about additional covers that might be missing in this area; seems a bit more is needed in this area.
Just out of curiosity, was this a theft recovery that you purchased through an auction from a salvage company?
The reason I ask is that I have read over the last couple of years, situations where people purchased recovery vehicles to find out that the salvage companies are removing the "good parts" to sell as used parts. Since the cars are being sold "as-is" then the buyer has no recourse but to repurchase these parts on the open market. One of the stories I saw was on youtube (don't remember the specifics). Once this guy started looking he found that all the high dollar electronics (computers, modules, etc...) were missing. The cost to replace, even used was going to be crazy expensive.

I hope this isn't the case for you! Good Luck!
This isn't *my* car. I'm just the poor slob mech who's trying to get it working as much as possible before it goes to the dealer for a more intensive diagnostic with the fancy dealer equipment. I'm trying to get as much done as possible since the dealer costs for this work would be prohibitive. I replaced the convertible top and that wasn't a bad job. The trick is to get it working off the switch which isn't happening. There are some detail parts to get the trunk lid operating which are missing also (see the previous pic above). True; the costs to restore this car to working condition have exceeded the original budget by far. This car is much more complicated than my 4th gen F-body was.
The history of this car was that it was recovered as almost a shell after what was thought to be an "inside job" theft from a valet at an upscale restaurant. What remained was purchased as a thought to make some money with a restoral and flip. Finding out the hard way it wasn't such a wonderful idea. .
