Agreed. I've been driving a zero option manual 1LT Grand Sport for 6 years and it's been nearly perfect (other than a T-Stat replacement)! Excellent car.
You got the best of the performance goodies with the GS without one cent added to the base.
Awesome!!
I do that on my 2014 all the time. In 2016 they added wired Android Auto.
Same here. When my XM trial ran out, I just paired my phone and used the XM app to play music since I have unlimited data. It is a few extra steps to get my music started, but I am not paying for another car on my plan since it isn't driven that much. In my DD, it is a necessity with the stations I have around me.

My opinion only - but there's no need to buy a Gran Sport over the Stingray. They've got identical engines...
I bought a new 2017 Stingray convertible 3LT, stick 7-speed, FE2, MSRC. I love it. One of the best cars I've ever owned. Both Stingrays bought new, 40 years apart! I love em!
Is that a normal thought for owners of C7...? Fingers crossed? My concern upon consideration of a switch. 🤔
Only for the widebody (GS, Z06) models. Shop for non-widebody (i.e. Stingray, Z51) and you'll get the narrowed case wheels which aren't prone to cracking. The Stingray has 18/19" wheels, Z51 19/20", so the additional rubber further protects the Stingray wheels. And they're cheaper to buy tires for.

Some have tried with various levels of luck but it seems they inevitably crack elsewhere.
You can replace individual wheels with new GM wheels, but they'll crack too. Might as well replace them all. Or don't get a widebody.
Or .... buy a widebody which already has had their wheels replaced with forged units.
I have cracked one wheel (front driver inside lip) over 40k miles on my 2017, but took it to a wheel shop and had it welded for $89.
Other than this, I replaced the belt tensioner myself fairly easily for about $90 as it started leaking around 36k miles.
Oh yeah and my center console leather got loose and wrinkly so I replaced that with an OEM lid for about $80.
Tires are pricey when you start having fun, but the car is very reliable overall.. I do drive mine hard on track days/autocross but take good care of her too!!
Get one, you will not regret it as it is surely one of the finest machines ever crafted!!
I have a 2019 Grand sport built after Feb 2019 so I had correct fluid from factory in the a8 also from day one had a range device so no V4 mode which kills the tq tube valves springs and tq convertor. I have just over 11000 miles with 0 issues no cracked wheels either but I live in Florida so pretty good roads. Majority of cars have no major issues however some can be very expensive like tq tube. I fell like most things in life a lot of it comes down to luck of the draw.
I also have a 2019 G.S. bought new end of November, 2019. Now has 20,000 miles. Zero issues. Really enjoy this car..
