I recently aquirred a 2015,Navigation says it needs upgrade. I see GM no longer offers an upgrade for the C7. I believe the last upgrade was in 2019, would that work in my 2015 and if so does anyone sell these?
They had an update last year. I was fortunate and it worked on my car. A lot of people were not so fortunate and it messed up their Navigation System! As far as I know, the GM provider still has not come up with a solution or fix.
I see you're new to the forum and on the note, WELCOME!
There are numerous posts addressing navigation options for the C7 and since you have a 2015, you unfortunately don't have the Apple CarPlay or Android Auto capability. I have a 2014 and decided to upgrade my Infotainment system to get Apple CarPlay the minute I could back in 2016. Rather than spend money to get an update for your factory Nav (which is long out of date with a lot useless/incorrect information), I would recommend taking that money and investing in an upgrade to the system like many of us 2014/2015 C7 owners. There are several YouTube videos showing how to this yourself if that is an option. Here's an link to one of those:

This is important!
Our 2017 took the 2024 update without problem, but a number of other people had it trash the nav completely, and nobody at GM or the provider seems to care.

Hmmmmmm...... According to GM's website there are no updates for a C6 or a C7 when you put in the year, only C8's
I researched updates for my '15 nav and decided to just say the H with it! I'll use waze on my phone or if on a real trip, I'll take my Garmin. It seems as though GM has abandoned the C7's....

This is the last word that I have heard. Not sure GM/Nav developer is going to prioritize a fix for the software.

Same thing here. A Pro-clip mounts my phone where I can see it, and then I can use Google maps, Wazy, Kurviger, etc. to navigate.
I have NEVER been a fan of the OEM nav solutions for a number of reasons, but mainly navigation algorithms are sub-optimal. My Audi was the worst; it behaved as if once a route to the destination was found, it stopped trying to find better / shorter / faster routes. The one in my Hyundai is a lot better, but the phone is still better.
Having used numerous Garmins I can see their appeal, and the newer ones are impressive, but I've never been a fan of their search and route planning interface. Plus it's one more device to manage.

It seems like they made a certain number of update copies each year, when those had all been sold then sometimes they would make more, and sometimes not.
There certainly were updates available for each C7 year until last year, then the "ruins your Nav" update last year probably coincided with when they were planning to stop updating the C7 anyway.
GM has ceased all Map Updates for the NGI 2.0 and 2.5 systems. If you have a 2014/2015 you have an NGI 2.0, if you have a 2016-2019 you have NGI 2.5. My understanding is that the Map Updates while containing the same data were not compatible (this might be the cause of some people having issues with the updates). I contacted HERE (who sells the map updates via the website) and they said this was a GM decision and to call them. Which I did, and the GM Customer Care was less than useless they couldn't tell me why GM had stopped making the maps.
My guess the USB Sticks are difficult to manufacture versus the SD Cards that NGI 3.0 uses (and I think the newest Google Automotive based systems are updated via the cloud/downloads) so this contributes to the issues. GM has been so disastrous since COVID with part shortages its laughable. Embarrassment of a company.
I had issues also with customer care , When I ordered the updates , she said OH we never sent one of these to Canada , she said she had to speak to the manager , really Canada is so far away and I may have been GM 1st Canadian customer, any ways I got it in a few days at $99 Us. took about an hour to download and it works fine. Do you think anyone could take the latest information and put it on a stick to work with the C7?
I have no idea how difficult/expensive that would be, but I actually prefer our factory Nav for some situations.

The map data should be compatible, in theory, but I'm not sure what else updates besides the map data. I'm sure each system has some sort of wrapper on it to be compatible with the interface of that system. NGI 2.0 and 2.5 are very similar (nearly identical), 3.0 is different but not night and day (it's whats in the C8). The Google stuff that's in the trucks is a whole other ball of wax. I'm sure if someone was enterprising enough and had access to an older NGI 2.0/2.5 stick maybe they could take data from a 3.0 SD Card and "update" the map data on the stick. Really it comes down to formatting and how separate is the map data from the interface layer. SD cards are not expensive (I've seen them for like $30 on eBay).
