Default What is this ?

I am getting ready to drain and fill the diff. It's my new to me 2014 Stingray, 23k miles and I'm the second owner. The aluminum cross member behind the mufflers has this plastic yet flexible piece bolted into the cross member. Is it a cradle for the floor jack ?

Thanks,
Bob

I think it is an air deflector which is found on convertibles. Uh, is yours a convertible?

Look at the stickies at the top of this forum to find the jacking points.

Since the car has 4 built in lifting pucks in the frame, maybe it's for the jack stands to lift from the rear?

Yes, it is a convertible! Hmmm, it's in the way of my floor jack. I suppose I can remove it and place a 2x3 along the cross member to distribute the weight, then reinstall it.

Thanks for the answerr.

I have a GS convertible, and I just changed the rear diff fluid (and trans fluid) last week, and I didn't have what's in the picture.

"Deflector for additional cooling for automatic transmission convertible models (that don't have fender intakes)? Just guessing as my Z51 M7 doesn't have it.
And you right... its on the factory recommending jack location which seems odd."

The above is from another thread.

No clue what exactly that piece is - it’s not on my 2014 coupe.

Any part number visible? If not, can you remove it to check the back for a number?

Might be a left-over piece from a non-OE mod???
