C7 engine
2019 c7 z06 (A8) when I rev engine (for my kids) while in park it takes awhile to come back down to normal. When rev in neutral it works accordingly.
Anyone know what's up.
Also I've tried absolutely everything I've read and seen on how to do launch control. It just won't work. Engine sounds like it's stalling out. Like revs up, then down and chokes (crackles)

Perhaps torque tube inertia?
With the M7's the recommendation is to not rev it in neutral. Doesn't that apply to the A8's too?

Have read this before on another forum.. this was their take:
On further investigation it's known as "rev hang". It was mentioned by Edmunds in their long term 2014 corvette write up. According to them it's possibly an emissions thing but feel if enough people think it's an issue GM may issue a
re-calibration of the ECU.
I think it's because the engine isn't "drive by wire."

I thought maybe cause I had it tuned (professionally) but I don't Thi k that's the problem. It may very well be a GM issue. Mine is a 2018

Mine does it too. In fact, nearly every GM car I've owned does it. Definitely a GM thing.

I have an M7, can you elaborate on the recommendation? I'm not being snarky at all, I honestly haven't heard that before.

I don't recall where I read it - I believe it has something to do with spinning up the TT when not under load.
Better to just push in the clutch and then do it.
