I found a Silver/Gray 2019 1LT here in Tampa that I talked down to $41,000. First vette and I love it so far (JUST picked it up on the 1st)!

I'm actually so in love with it so far. it'll be my daily driver for a few years (I'm 25 and in school) I believe, so I'd love some tips and tricks on keeping it clean and maintained!

I haven't on mine. 2 ways I would do it. Either make the sale contingent on a PDI by a Corvette certified tech or have a warranty for a few months and get a Corvette certified tech to do the PDI and bring up all problems before the warranty ends. Hopefully they are 2LT trim.

The biggest problem I have had was trying to keep it close to the speed limit.

Other than that, I have changed out all
the fluids, did the Magnetic Ride Update, got the software for Android Auto, and the Tranny Triple Flush.

I have a Roadster, so I also got he Window Valet and the SmartTOP. I have a 3LT with no problems.

Thank you very much for the advice. I'll definitely do that then. So are you saying that I should only be looking for 2LT trim 2016s because I just found a 1LT for 36k that was from 2016.

I didn't want to go without some of the features of the 2016. After that year there wasn't much besides color.

Only you can decide which options you value the most. For me, AA/Apple CarPlay and a front camera didn’t matter much, but a HUD and NPP exhaust were must haves. That pretty much limited me to the 2 or 3LT trim models. Factoring in the potential for A8 transmission issues and the dashboard bubbling, only the 2014 2LT A6 model left me with the level of confidence I desired. Especially after the experience I had with my previous 2016 3LT A8 coupe. I should add that the 2016 car was purchased without my knowledge of the shuddering issue and before it was resolved with the 3x flush and change to the new formula transmission fluid. I hadn’t yet started experiencing any shuddering, but was having some erratic shifting, a fluctuating tach while cruising, and a horrid first shift of the day from reverse into drive. With all the reported problems that were coming to light with the A8, I feared I was driving a ticking time bomb and lost all confidence in the car. Took me over 2 years to find my current 2014 Z51 A6 that filled all my squares for color, options, mileage, condition and previous care. Even then though, I still added an extended warranty, just for added peace of mind. (Perhaps you should consider that as well) I had to pay a premium for all those things however. But I couldn’t be happier with my decision.

Agree with a lot of the advice given. Make a list of wants, needs and issues to avoid. Then drill down the models years you wish to avoid. Model years in your price range can be had but you may suffer from poor condition, high milage. Keep asking questions here, we'll help guide you!

what took 2 years, there's only so many configurations??

when i got serious about a c7, i already have a beautiful '04/spiral gray metallic), i didn't want a dark color, automatic, z51 for heavy duty cooling for az summers, 3lt, vert!!
a6 had the bulletproof tranny, why i gave up later upgrades but also happy with choice!!
several offerings within 25 miles on cargurus, several white, 1 blade silver 18700 miles, carfax, delivered colorado, moved to az, 2 owners. maint, oli changes since new.

beautiful convertible, drove/smelled like new, bought on the spot for cash.

Buying a used car carries risks... any used car, but sports/performance more so! That said, get the simplest optioned, lowest mileage, BEST documented vehicle you can find and afford. No year is inherently worse than the others. No, from what you've said a C8 is not in your price range... heck, my '18 C7 isn't. All the best and enjoy whatever you may get.

You really think so? I don't believe a sports car is any worse of a risk considering how some of the corvette owners are so **** about the car. OTOH, when I have a $30K car, I probably will try to skimp as much as possible on the maintenance and repairs. My car is worth $100K so a $5000 repair isn't as huge of a shock as say a $3000 repair on a $40K car, I suspect because I have more disposable income when I can afford a $100K car.

Will he be happy with a stripped down version? I probably will love it when buying but when I see the features, I might be saying "I wish I put another $X.".. As to low mileage, don't they cost more just because it is lower mileage? If it is inspected and no faults found, I wouldn't be afraid of a 50K car. OTOH, as someone said, 5000 miles at a quarter mile a time on weekends would be more nerve wracking.

Maybe the OP should list out a bunch of "Dealbreakers", "Important to have" and "Would be nice to have."?

Thank you very much for your response! I don't mind any mileage on the car as long as it is running nice and won't have any problems. Furthermore, I do plan to keep up with maintenance and get repairs done asap. I was recently looking at a 2016 C7 LT1 in Michigan for around 36k which doesn't have any issues. However, it did have 3 previous owners, but I personally don't mind it because the car has never been in an accident and doesn't have any issues. The only thing I want on this car is Android Auto and for it to be an automatic. I also really like the Stage 2 spoiler that's on the back of some other C7s that I've seen but I can always put an aftermarket version down the line in the future so it's not a really a priority for me. The only things that I am set on are that the car must be white or black and I'd prefer black rims, but I can always add that on in the future. Once again, thank you very much for your advice.

Does this car in Michigan come with any warranty? Mine had a short one so I booked an appointment for a PDI done by a Corvette tech I know. I'll be damned if I let your tech tell me your car is good. I'd want a neutral guy. How do you know it doesn't have any issues? Unless your tech says so, I wouldn't believe it. I have had many an Academy Award performance by sellers claiming how perfect the car is and how shocked they are when the tech says something is wrong. Did you know my C4 had a "theft prevention device" according to the seller? You turned the key to run mode and have to press a starter button to crank. Oh, the starter relay was fused to the socket. I had to cut it all off and put another relay socket and relay. It is so confusing when the compression tester says it has bad compression in one cylinder the the owner insists it is the lope of the cam.

Concerning the accident report. How do you know it is clean? IIRC, we had a user here that said Carfax came out clean and Autocheck didn't or vice versa. Might be good to get 2 reports even if it costs more.

If all you need is AA and auto, that is pretty easy to find in white or black. Spoiler isn't too bad. Rims I don't care about since you can have someplace like Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists paint it whatever you want. Pink with green polka dots can also be done. I saw it before. I don't understand it but oh well. Oh, could you have someone check the rims for straightness? Even non-GS ones can be bent. Ask me how I know.

PS. Fill out your profile so we know your location and might be able to help you out.

Bought a 2014 2LT Stingray last November w/ 59K miles, in near showroom perfect condition for $34K cash. Not one issue with the car so far.
